It will help you be better on 2017
This game is like most old ones it seems like. It has its flaws, but if you know how to overcome them, the game is awesome.I've had it for almost two years now and it's doing great. I take it apart every two weeks to clean the rollers (soft brush and blowing it off). Anyone can take it apart, nothing complex. Works better than when I got it new after every cleaning. (You do go through batteries pretty often, but worth it)I read someone's review about how it didn't seem to work right when they first used it, but after "breaking it in a little" it worked just fine... I second that. I got frustrated with it the first day, but after a couple of hours it seemed to do the same for me. Go to the practice mode and just keep swinging for an two or three hours. This game is not like the one you play at the bars. But I can promise you something. If you get good at this one (especially practicing pulling back at different angles) you will beat almost everyone at the bar. I haven't come close to losing and I'm playing against people that play several times a week. Putting on both this one and 2017 are very similar.Fight through the flaws and it will improve your 2017 game tremendously.

Overpriced and Poor Quality!
Don’t waste your time or money! Highly disappointed!!I got this for my boys (10 & 6) for a Christmas present and they were so excited because they love playing GoldenTee. It was easy to set up but right away my husband and I noticed that the graphics were terrible and the options were very limited with the game. I was shocked as to how much we paid for it for the lack of quality that we got and thought about returning it then. Knowing the boys were excited for it, we gave it a try. We noticed that within the first week of playing on it that the accuracy of shots became less. They would hit one way and the ball would go the other, almost like the actual ball on the console was going out. After three weeks the console broke. The games would start however the console would reset in the middle of a game. It does this every time now and needless to say because of the frustration of not being able to complete a game, we don’t even use it now. I contacted Amazon and was out of my return period (because I bought it 3 weeks before even using it for Christmas) and was told to contact the manufacturer. I did receive a response from the manufacturer however no help and a suggestion to contact Amazon.I would suggest that before they make a significant upgrade to this console do not buy it! You will be dissatisfied.

GREAT FUN FOR THE PRICE
This game is really a lot of fun once you practice a bit and get a feel for it. The tee and fairway shots are pretty much in alignment with how you pull back and push the roller ball forward. You can even hook or pull your shots as required. Putting is difficult, but with practice becomes more manageable and I agree with some other reviews that there are times when you are too far from the hole to make the putT even if you hit it as hard as you can. Where you need to really be careful is with chipping using the SW or PW. I recommend you only push forward and very gently on the roller ball - otherwise you launch your ball over the green constantly. It also has backspin or foward spin options. It was frustrating at first, but once you figure out the games little intricacies, it can be fun for all ages. Highly recommend you play the skins game b/c everyone has a bad hole eventually and this keeps the games fun. It also has a stroke limit that is a great way to keep the younger ones in the game. GET THIS GAME!

Graphics are terrible
I knew they weren't going to be great but i thought they would of been better than what they are. Still fun to play with tho.

Its a fun game, except one thing...
The Golden Tee Golf game after unpacking and loading the batteries took a few minutes to figure out.Once the track ball was calibrated it was a similar experience to the machine you see in bars. For thosewho are disappointed because it isn't equal to the performance of the real thing are forgetting one thing. The price of this toy comes to $33. If you want the real thing, it is on sale at Amazon. You can get the same game experience for $4590.00!! Thats the 2009 version and that only comes with thethe console and not the monitor. If you want it all, you can find it on line for close to $8000 dollars. Solets compare a $33 dollar version to a $4590 dollar version. Sure you don't get the graphics, you don't get the"fly by", you don't get the multitude of courses (this game has only three), the many different choices of playerappearance (you can select male or female only), the action of the hit, its missing the "bite" (this game hasonly roll or backspin) etc. The only thing I don't like is an odd one it comments "Does you husband play?"This happens if your beyond the "double bogey" attempt on a hole. That comment doesn't equate to all peopleplaying this game. They could of come up with a universal insult instead. Other than that I recommend this toy.Just understand you get what you pay for. Could they have come up with a much more advanced version, yesabsolutely. Im sure, because the bar arcade version can cost you $4.00 per person per 18 hole play, thats $16 dollars forfour players playing. If you play this arcade version with 4 players twice, you've basicallypaid for the cost of this unit. If they made lets say a $120.00 Xbox style version you plug in and play at home with the sameexact experience as the bar version, the company would be losing alot money like those $16 dollar sales. I think theylisenced out as much as thay could to give you, for a home experience. Id say you get a 16 bit experience in thisunit and for the money you spend for this unit compared to the real machine you are getting more than 95% of the experienceof the bar version.
