There are three features on this case that are making it the best Kindle Fire cover:- The entire front screen is open - there are no straps, no laces and no enveloping materials that get in the way. This is very important for touch device where your fingers need to slide from edge to edge without anything getting in a way. Plus, this accentuates beautiful Kindle design making your tablet more aesthetically pleasing. Tablet is still held very securely by four corner tabs and will not fall out of the case even if shaken vigorously.- Cover snaps closed and puts Kindle to sleep. Many other cases either do not have any latch for the front cover (like an overpriced Amazon cover) or require a strap or a button to keep cover closed. Not this one. The latch grips around the edge of the Kindle without creating additional thickness, holds very securely and is easy to open.- Front cover can be flipped open flush to the back cover when you keep tablet in hands while reading, for example. Other cases are usually too thick and can not be flipped the entire 360 degrees. Even older designs from Poetic had this drawback - not this one. The tablet is very comfortable and easy to hold in hands without removing it from the case.Other features on this cover that should be mentioned:- matching speaker grill openings on the back to let the sound out- three stable angles to put your tablet on the table in the landscape position- velvetti inside to protect Kindle and not scratch it- faux leather outside is not plush but does not feel cheap. It does not add much to the tablet dimensions either keeping it very slim.Overall, this is one of the best cover designs for Kindle Fire HD and the budget price makes it a no brainer to pick over other cases.

This case is slim and very light. The Kindle fit in perfectly and there are many angle options for viewing. I like the look and feel of it. I particulary like that the case locks without the elastic strap many other cases have. I hope the corners that hold the kindle in place hold up well since they're very small. But so far I'm very pleased with this case. The shipping was incredibaly fast as well.Update:I've been using this for over a month now and it has held up exceptionally well. The corner snaps have not popped out once as I had initially feared. The leather still looks very nice. I love how light and slim this case it. I can fold it all the way over when I'm reading a book and it doesn't feel bulky at all. I did put a screen protector on my Kindle though just because I have kids and didn't want my screen to get fingerprints or crack. I found an awesome inexpensive cover which I also have reviewed.I had initially ordered another cover which was much more expensive but returned that one because the Kindle did actually almost fall out once. That was enough reason for me to return that one. This was one of my best purchases to date!I highly recommend it!

Good quality but is not strap back as the name implies. My original strap back had a convenient strap on the cover for you to hold onto while reading, which is why I ordered another one. This one doesn't have it.

Just received this cover. It is not the same as the picture. The one I received is similar to the Poetic folio cover for 7 in kindle. However, due to the position of the power button and headphone jack, it is slightly different and as a result, the cover does not close perfectly. There is a big gap. The auto wake/sleep does not work either. I plan to return it.

This is overall a nice case and it does a good job of protecting my kindle. I took 2 stars away because the auto sleep/wake does not work unless I move the cover around a little bit till it shuts off. I think the Magnet in the top cover is a little off and the kindle isn't reading it there. But for the price its worth the money.

simple designed lightweight cover/case for the fire HD 8.9. Kindle clicks in easy and is held safely in place. front cover activates the sleep function of the HD when closed and it wakes right up when I flip it open. Stands at three angles in horizontal mode. I wish it could swivel to portrait mode, but am very pleased with it as is. Seems to protect the HD and screen just fine.Only negative is w the HD power placement. If you plug it in you cannot stand it at an angle since the pug is on that side/bottom. You can put the HD in upside down and use the auto-rotate to get the display right if you really need to charge while viewing. Otherwise you can easily close the cover and charge.

I purchased a Kindle Fire HD 8.9 for my wife because she travels quite a bit on business, is a reader, hates to carry or pack her personal laptop, and is pretty much fed up with television offerings in hotels. As fairly new Amazon Prime members with hundreds of movies, documentaries, and TV shows queue'd in our watchlist the Kindle was the solution to all her issues. She loves her Kindle but wanted a smallish case to protect it. Everything we looked at was $50 to $90, and then we saw the Poetic case for $12.95. We ordered it and she absolutely loves it!The case holds the 8.9 securely in place, snaps nicely closed, definitely provides protection, has several tilt positions, a nice handstrap, a flap strap for keeping it closed when reading, and feels good in her hand. The Auto Sleep/Wake function was a nice surprise. Yes, it has a bit of an odor when first opened but it quickly goes away. The poetic case was a great purchase!

This is a great case, especially for the price. It does everything I wanted a case to do. It works well while standing and is not to bulky to fold back for reading. It closes securely and it is very slim. I love that there is nothing to obstruct the screen, nothing at all, the Kindle just pops in. It seems very well made. My only concern is that over time it may separate since I flip it back & forth so much, but there are no indications on the case that it will happen, it seems sturdy. After looking at many cases for the 8.9, I was surprised to find a case in this price range and even more surprised at what I got for the money. If it doesn't last forever, at least I didn't pay a fortune! The one I received is exactly as pictured. I am very happy with this purchase.

This is a perfect case. It can be used as a stand also has space for pen. Good sturdy construction and fits perfectly my Kindle fire HD. Would recommend this product. Came well packaged

its a good protection for your kindle fire HD 8.9, the only drawbacks to me is the fact you have to almost push it to close it together, so it sort of locks itself.you do wonder if its sealed properly and whether down the line it wears out after a lot of use, but it also has an elastic band that holds it together to keep it safe, just in case it does wear out.overall a good protective case, perfect for people needing one for their kindle fire HD, and cheaper than most of the others.I would recommend this to anyone needing that extra protection for their device.
