Q: Is it ok to put mulch on top of this?

I use mulch over it and weed block under it. It keeps the lawn mower far enough away to not hurt my plants an small tree saplings.

Q: Is the material this is made of non-toxic? I want to use around a tomato plant to prevent blight.

I'm not sure, I know it has rubber in it.

Q: Are these available in green ?

Q: can weed grow through the hole or the slit if your tree is 2" thick

Given the tenacity of weeds, yes they can grow through the slit and around the base of the tree even with the hole fitting tight against the tree trunk. I use a piece of landscape fabric under the slit which helps stop the weeds. I also find that Bermuda grass can send runners under the mat and then send shoots up through the mat. Periodic lifting of the map and removing invasive grass shoots helps. Over time, as the tree grows and if the mat fits tight against the trunk, it will be necessary to enlarge the diameter of the hole.
