Large, dry, pale brown clumps do not break apart easily, and the few in the cup are just the ones I took off the top before taking a picture.This stuff doesn't dissolve. Heat is a help, but you will need a sturdy arm and a stout whisk to disperse this in liquid.The flavor is mild, and there is just a faint chocolate taste. Until I chilled my mocha, I was ready to cry for having bought six pounds of this product. Once very cold, the flavor was a bit more complex, with a smooth texture, but I had left it in my shaker bottle, and there was sediment at the bottom.

This is the third brand of cacao powder I have tried. I loved the last brand I used, Milliard Organic Cacao Powder / Non-GMO and Gluten Free, but I thought I would try this Food to Live brand because it was a little cheaper. I mix my cacao with hot water and some sweetener (and in the mornings with some instant coffee.) I like a powder that dissolves easily in hot water. This one had terrible lumps that I had to fight with. I like a powder that dissolves completely. This one left terrible fibers of some sort at the bottom. It tasted like I was drinking coffee grounds mixed in with some leftover cacao lumps.

I love this product because it is so delicious and versatile. I put it into milk and then blend it in a small one service blender and it tastes like a chocolate milk shake but much healthier. I put it in yogurt, sprinkle it on fruit and more! So, so healthy too! You don't need to use a lot so the package goes a long way!

Very disappointing cacao. I buy cacao to put in my morning coffee. This one is lacking the rich cacao flavor. Instead it has a mild "earthy" flavor and is gritty- like sand. If you are wanting a plain cacao to bake with then iI recommend trying this one. However a smooth, rich cacao is not what I got with my bag and I won't risk ordering it again.

This raw cacao powder is absolutely delicious. I mix it in nearly every meal. Into chili, into gravy, in smoothies, in coffee, in baked goods.
