What's the widest the clamp can open? Looking to build an AR-15 upper and need a vise.

The Proton vise is great for precision work like polishing/filing small parts. But I would not put anything larger than a small frame semi-auto in it  to do serious, precision work. I emailed Proxxon. He told me this vise is made in Taiwan, not China as listed.
