As far as I can tell, this appears to be, and works just like, the original remote that seems to have fallen into a waste basket next to the sofa, from whence it never returned...I researched this a LOT on the internet because I didn't want to get the wrong item. Through Samsung's site, I was led to their official alternate parts replacement site, because this remote and the player are no longer in stock as Samsung parts.They wanted about twice as much for it, claiming it to be an original, while the information here made it seem this is an after-market replacement.I couldn't find my exact model number here, which is likely because I purchased it at WalMart, where they are able to have their own model numbers put on some major items.|However, the reviews were all so good and the photo a dead ringer for my remote, I took a chance.Glad I did! It works perfectly with DVD, CD, etc as well as controlling the Samsung Smart Hub

I have a new Samsung 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray player, and I was not impressed with the teeny little watch battery controller that came with it. The buttons are just too small, and many functions requiring going through menus - things that used to be directly accessible with older controllers like this one. Fortunately, from a functional standpoint, older controllers like this work just fine with the new players. This particular one is actually several generations old, but it's always been my favorite, with its flat contours and big, well labeled, and easy to use buttons. We I need a new remote as my son had a party when we where not home a year ago and it have never turned up, I think one of the crazy 17 year olds thought it would be a funny thing to take. So I ordered this one the same as what i had and it has been great and works great with no problems and works as well as the original manufacturer remote it.I smiled when the price was so low and was thinking it was going to be half the price of the DVD player but nice to see it was not and works great on my TV as well.

The batteries in the remote for my Samsung Blu-Ray had evidently lain dormant for too long,and alas, they melted...Or did whatever it is elderly batteries are known to do and ruined the remote.Those who neglect their batteries, will pay for their perfidy.Rather than get on the horn to Samsung,spend all day on hold,be shuffled around from department-to-department,wind up extremely agitated,spend top dollar,wait a month for the foolish thing to show up -I found what I needed right here.The price was totally reasonable,it showed up in just a couple days,AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY.You can't beat that with a stick.There is a lesson to be learned here, Grasshopper:Go to Amazon first!

My remote stopped working all of a sudden and i couldn't get that repaired, so bought this one.it took so much time compared to my other amazon deliveries a week or so from this vendor, other than that remote is packed well and seems like new one and working so far.

After a month of the "missing remote" and waiting for it to just re-appear, i finally broke down and decided to buy a new one. This one is exactly like the one I received when I purchased my Samsung Blue Ray. Well actually this one has a "netflix" button that the original one did not. I simply put the batteries in and BAM!, I was back in service! I am very satisfied with this remote.

nice remote, but the number keys do not change the channel on my samsung tv. that's kind of a bummer. only channel up, or channel down. it's only made for the bluray. some of the buttons work on both the bluray and the tv. the power, the channel up/down, and the input key..but that's it. works great for the bluray player though. saved me a lot of headaches since i bought a bluray openbox with no remote, and it's all on screen display.

This remote for the Samsung BD-C5900 3D Blu Ray Player is very good. It has large enough buttons for convenience, is easy to figure out, and is compatible also with the newer Samsung HDTVs. The only thing I wish is that it had the ability to light up. It would really make it much easier when watching something in the dark.
