Great for some, but not if you are looking for heat retention while in the water.
This is generally a great boot for diving as well as walking a rocky beach/shoreline. They're comfortable, have a grippy sole, and are well built. Many people will love these. The one thing I did not like is that they have two holes for drainage on each boot. This is helpful if you are going in/out of the water a lot but completely defeats the neoprene's anti-flushing and really causes me to lose a lot of heat. In the winter I have to occasionaly swim in 40-50F water in Long Island Sound for my job and stay fairly warm with a 6mm wetsuit and 5mm hood/gloves/boots. I've used several different boots and these would be my favorite except for these holes. They constantly flush water through the boot as you move your feet, washing away the thin layer of warm water between you and the neoprene. These holes are NOT in the photos above so I added my own. I got them through amazon prime and they came with the holes in the pic. Maybe you'll get a pair without them?

These boots are warm and fitting was perfect; even around ankle
I had read some low star reviews for these so I wanted to write my own because I almost got put off by some of the reviews, and I would have really missed out on some super nice dive boots. Ok so here's the scoop.... I scuba dive for work and fun A LOT in San Diego. Cold water.. its winter right now. Got the 7mm. They did not disappoint.. My feet were probably the warmest body part lolIn the past I had been buying cheap 10/15 dollar pairs on Craigslist and not really giving boots much thought. But I saw the price on these and for not being that far off of the second hand stuff I was used to buying before, this was majorly worth a little extra money. So, the low star reviews I had read on this boot were that there were holes in the boot making water get in?? First thing i looked for on my pair.... Not there.. Maybe there are holes on the thinner 5mm model? But ya... no holes on the 7mm..Second bad reviews I read were because the zipper around the ankle wasn't large enough to fit someone's ankles... I consider myself to have large feet and calves so I was worried about this... And yet.. they zipped up fine. The way they are made the zipper does not go to the very top on the boot; it sits in slightly underneath a little. Considering you should be putting your wetsuit leggings OVER the boot I really don't see how this could be a turn off for divers... Or maybe some of y'all have some fat ankles?however it goes.... These are awesome Scuba Boots and for the price I am more than satisfied and I am sure I will be buying these again and suggesting them to my students. The soles are sturdy, the fitting was correct, I did the back lip to support the fin, and its got some nice rubber texture protection over the toes. Also I noticed the zipper lining has a piece of material at the bottom so you do not disconnect zipper. Super fancy ;) Anyways. Get these they are cool, you'll be nice and warm!

Not sure what happened...
Got these two days ago, and just got around to looking them over and trying them on. First impressions were that these were a little loose on the foot, and ran a little long, then I stood up. I might as well have an oversized sock on my foot. Then the investigation.1. What are supposed to be "Isla" were in actuality "Minorca" boots.2. What was supposed to be sized 10, was in reality a size 11.3. What was supposed to be a 7mm thick rubber, a paltry 3mm.4. What are supposed to be $40 boots, are actually only worth $35.I dont know if there was a mix up in orders, but this is the first time an order through Amazon was gotten so wrong. Hope this can get resolved

Best water boots for the price!
I LOVE THESE BOOTS!First off I am a gold miner so I do a lot of walking and I needed some water boots that not only protected my feed from frigid cold water but could also hold up to sharp rocks.I purchased these boots because of another review here that mentioned how well they did on volcanic rocks, I figured if they did well there that they would excel in fresh water creeks where I would use them AND THEY HAVE! :)These boots are far superior to any water shoe that you will find at Wal-Mart, Big 5 or any other store that carries water shoes.I have already walked many miles with these boots and put them through quite a bit of use. Any other water shoe would have been dead by now and on to my 2nd set.I have spent over $400 dollars on crappy water shoes in the last 5 years when I should have just bought these instead. You can not go wrong with the Cressi Isla boots, they are rugged for water boot standards, they are warm, they are comfortable and they have a sole that is hard yet yielding enough that it will last a long time while offering enough support to be comfortable on gravel and jagged rocks. The only negative that I can think of about these boots is that you still slip on some wet rocks, but even felt sole boots still slip a little too so it is not a big deal, just be mindful of where you are putting your feet in conditions where rocks are wet or in shallow water.

Not as in the pictue
I have twice been sent different boots from those in the picture, both times with no rubber up the front of the foot to the ankle level. I find this vital both for rub protection both for my feet and for the boot from my fins. Really irritating.

Beware... they run large
I'm normally an 8.5. Ordered L and they're way TOO LARGE. Returned them and ordered another version of Cressi boots in M, which is a snug fit but at least they won't come off!

Great products would recommend
A great boot, I'm a size 10. 5 UK size and fits perfectly and also so has enough space to go into my my fins.
