One of the benefits of this product are its low cost. It can be installed in many different environments. It is fairly easy to seam and hides the seam well if installed properly. Has a good UV resistant factor and holds up well in all climates. As with most Polypropylene turf, it has about a four to six week break in period that can be accelerated by rolling or light plate tamping. All polypropylene turfs require some sand fill to perform well. There are a couple of reasons why you need sand fill in a polypropylene turf. The most important reason is because the fibers cannot stand upright on their own. Sand fill is also required to help prevent the fibers from becoming matted down. Adding sand fill to a putting green will equate to periodic maintenance. Heavily sand filled greens will become hard over time, and will require a little more maintenance to provide good performance. This 1/2 inch Polypropylene Green will require approximately 4 pounds of sand per sq. ft., and must be brushed and refilled with sand if the sand fill becomes compacted or washed away. With the right sand fill, Polypropylene Greens provide an excellent surface for receiving long approach shots & ball roll out. The sand fill helps disperse the energy of a ball when hit into a green from any significant distance.
