Great comfort for 3D
Our new Samsung UN55ES7500 55-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D Slim LED HDTV (Black) came with four perfectly good pair of 3D glasses- good for everyone except my wife who prefers to wear her prescription glasses while watching TV. Shopping for a solution I found these Samsung compatible (2011 and 2012 model sets) 3D glasses. The 3D glasses easily fit over a pair of eyeglasses, which is exactly what my wife wanted. Her obvious comfort inspired us to test them for ourselves and shortly after the end of a 3D movie two more pair were ordered from Amazon.Unlike the manufacturer Samsung's supplied glasses, these third party devises do not rely on regular hearing-aid batteries, a recurring expense which increases the cost of the product. The 3Active glasses have a built in rechargeable battery, a mini-USB cable and a wall adapter. Charge maintenance has been excellent. So far has been that they have maintained a charge over several days of nonuse, enabling all of us to watch feature films with the need to pre-charge or recharge.Because these glasses are sturdily constructed like eyeglass frames, they do not slip around during a movie. The effect of this is to make the whole 3D experience that much more enjoyable.

Comfortable and hassle-free
While the 3-D is just as good (or bad) with the cheaper glasses that came with the Samsung, the comfort of these glasses has me spending a heckuva lot less time readjusting the glasses on my face and a lot more enjoying the viewing experience. In fact, for a while, I even managed to forget that they were on and simply enjoyed the movie -- a rarity for me when I'm watching a 3-D movie anywhere other than the Luxor at Vegas with its super-high-priced head sets (not available for home viewing). These glasses are on a par with the glasses handed out at your local Imax theater in terms of quality and comfort -- not perfect but a giant step up from the $20 glasses that came with your Samsung.Kindle owners will be glad to know that they can put the USB recharging plug into the wall plug that Amazon sells for the Kindle. Whether that results in faster charges or not, I haven't bothered to test. But, either way, I find it a more convenient way to charge these.Just check to see whether your Samsung is Bluetooth-enabled. If so, I suspect you'll find these a welcome upgrade from the $20 Samsung glasses that came with your set.The case is handy, but I chose not to replace the recharging plug into its crammed compartment for fear of eventually damaging its wires by folding it tightly on itself so as to squeeze it back into its small pocket. This may be unnecessary, but why chance it?Are they worth the price? That's impossible to say since there are probably widely differing views on what anything is worth. I'm happy with the purchase since I was dissatisfied with the default glasses. If you're happy with the $20 glasses, then don't buy these. if, however, you'd like a set of glasses that are more than twice the comfort of the original, then consider the purchase fairly priced -- over twice the quality for over twice the price.

Better than Samsung's own glasses
I own a Samsung UN55ES7100 that came with 4 pairs of the newer, cheaper battery powered 3D glasses. They're good, just not great. They feel flimsy and like they could fall off my face with any sudden movements.Enter 3Active. These glasses are amazing! When you open the box and you see the storage case, cleaning cloth, charging cable and durable glasses you know you got a quality product. I charged them up, paired with my TV, and was playing PS3 in 3D in no time. I do feel like the quality of the 3D was better, and not as dark as the Samsung OEM glasses. I liked that the lenses were larger and the frames were wider and more robust (for my larger head). I played a game for about an hour with them on and didn't have any negative effects. Can't say the same thing for the OEM glasses. The only con I could add would be the nose piece. I felt like the nose piece was somewhat too hard and narrow. I can't detract from my 5 star rating because, like I said earlier, I wore them for an hour straight and didn't have any complaints afterwards. Just wish either the glasses had adjustable nose pieces or some rubber pads like normal eye glasses. My 2 cents.Long story short, don't hesitate to purchase these glasses. Money well spent!

I have a Samsung JS8500 model, and I always thought the 3D produced by the TV was good with the exception of certain movies that just never looked good. Most movies looked fine, but a select few like HOUSE OF WAX were just awash with ghosting. Also, certain "money" shots in 3D movies that otherwise looked good would not resolve, such as the telescope shot in IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE.The general consensus on the Internet was that there was only so much 3D one could expect with an Active display. As it turns out, there is only so much 3D you can get with the battery operated 3D glasses provided by Samsung. These glasses look MUCH better--HOUSE OF WAX is no longer a mess of ghosting! The telescope looks great in IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE. So far every disc I've tried has looked better.Your individual mileage may vary but for me, these glasses were worth the money.

Preconceptions Unfounded
I need a larger hat size - reviewers said legs pinched behind ears. True, but, just heat some water in a coffee mug, inserted legs and adjust to fit. Fits great now. They are a significant improvement over OEM 3D glasses. Wider field of view and the wider side frame blocks annoying reflections.Wasn't convinced about charging vs replacing batteries. That too proved unfounded - charge lasts a very long time (maybe 3 or 4 battery changes). Using with Samsung 65" UND8550 4K TV - pairing glasses is seamless. Glasses can be charged from the USB ports on back of TV. I chose the 0.5 over the 1.0 amp port.. Thinking slower charge = longer battery life?I just ordered my 2nd pair.
