UPDATE: Native Union's customer support is awesome and they def stand behind their product, which is nice to see. I was able to work with them to get a replacement, turns out I had a faulty base (no fault of their own). The replacement works as expected! Make sure you have the right adapter, and also note that for older phone models the wireless charging will inherently be slower.TL;DR This charger looks great, has solid build quality, and a minimal aesthetic. BUT THAT'S IT!If you are buying it to use as an actual charger, look elsewhere. For the price, it doesn't charge my phone well or as advertised. I've tried many different ways (positioning, different fast-charge adapters, different cables, with case vs. without case etc.) to no avail. The problems: it does not fast-charge (like at all), disconnects constantly, is extremely finnicky from a positioning perspective (which I can understand due to the design), and most of all it will randomly stop charging after a few minutes and I'll come back to find its only gone up a few %. For reference, I have a Samsung S8.Maybe I received a dud, but would not recommend this charger, as for the price it can't even perform its most basic function. If someone was able to get it to work as advertised do let me know! For now it just sits on my desk as a nice looking accessory as its past the return window lolPS: I generally don't write reviews, but considering this product has received so much coverage, adding here in case it helps anyone :)

I myself have received countless free company-branded charging pads manufactured by companies of dubious repute, poorly constructed from plastic, very likely carcinogenic, and in array of discordant colours - the most offensive being the ‘white’, which through UV degradation will almost certainly turn yellow as bromine molecules leech to the surface within mere moments of exposure to light. The thought alone is enough to make one feel quite unsettled and in dire need of a herbal tea.As the universe conspires to bring low quality and aesthetically challenging products into the sanctity of our homes we must mount an unwavering defence! In the final tragic moments of Act 5, after learning of Juliet’s death, Romeo cries out “Then I defy you, stars” and declares himself openly opposed to the destiny that so grieves him! In defiance of my own plastic destiny, I drew strength and inspiration from the conviction of Romeo (and the radiance of a young Leonardo DiCaprio) and I determined to purchase the wireless charging station from Native Union, a brand synonymous with quality. My natural inclination drew me initially to the black and charcoal colour ways, but in a moment of uncharacteristic hedonism, I opted for sage, and haven’t experienced a moment of regret or remorse. The product offers unparalleled convenience and appeal. I typically sit on mine for an hour or so in the morning and find I have adequate energy to face whatever challenges the day might bring!

I really like this wireless charger and I'm glad I spent the extra money, it comes with a high quality braided USB type A to USB type C cable, the top of the charger has a lovely soft material texture and the bottom a rubber ring that keeps the base secure on my desk. There's a discreet light on the front of the base which is just the perfect brightness so it doesn't disturb me when I'm asleep but is reassuring so I can quickly glance at it to know my device is charging, I've used the charger with my Samsung Note 9, and Apple AirPods wireless charging case and they work perfectly, no matter where I place my devices on the base they always charge unlike some other wireless chargers where you need to place your phone or whatever your charger in a certain position to get a charge, a bit expensive but worth every penny.
