Q: What is the maximum length and width coverage? Is there a ratio that get to the 4200 square feet?

I bought two of these and my experience is that you will NEVER get 4200 SF of coverage. They are made of cheap plastic that turns brittle within a year. The round black plastic blew out just below the yellow spray nozzles, and the other one stopped oscillating. If you want to get decent sprinkler - buy one with more metal.

Q: Is this metal or plastic?

My base is metal but the rest of the sprinkler is plastic. Like one respondent noted, the plastic Width Adjustment Tabs on my unit snapped off after 6 months.

Q: I bought 2 of these but cannot find a hose connector that fits. Any recommendations?

Amazon does have the other part you need, you need to search on Amazon for "Melnor Quick Connect 2-piece Garden Hose Kit." it has both pieces but is only $3.33, you can use the other one on anything else you connect to your hose.

Q: I an older Melnor similar to this one (green color) but it won't oscillate well anymore and gets stuck. Does anyone now how to fix it?

Clogged up, or malfunctioning sprinklers is often caused by hard water deposits-try carefully pouring some CLR into the mechanism and orifices and let soak for an hour or two. Rinse thoroughly. Hope this helps. Dr. Greg Holte 11/12/2015
