Rise: Blood Hunter [Blu-ray]

I like most any movie Lucy Liu is an actor in mostly knowing it will be good or great movie. The movie was more about how people was killed than by everyone thinking of a supernatural being or a vampire. It was not the biting of the neck but using a device to stab or slit the person. More it shown Lucy biting into an arm and seeing that it was not so simple like other movies with vampires biting and getting blood. This is a very good movie, not slow and not fast on guessing what happened. It made sense to follow along how the movie was playing out at the end. Though the end was really no surprise.

If you view the film, you will know what three days means. This is a routine vampire movie with a twist, in that there is a revenge component. It has its good points, and its flaws. It is not a terrible movie, but it is hard to reconcile in some scenes Sadie has very high skills for someone who really is an investigative reporter, and in other scenes where she fails in a most obvious manner. It is interesting enough to keep a person interested in seeing how the movie comes out. It may not deserve four stars, but giving it three underrates the entertainment value.

Lucy Liu is a favorite of mine, as is Michael Chiklis. I'd seen this movie years ago & watched it a few times before deciding to buy it on DVD so I can watch whenever I want. I'm also a fan of film noir, & this definitely has a noir quality.Sadie Blake (Lucy Liu) is a reporter writing a series of articles on the Goth party scene. When one of her sources tells her that a friend went to a Goth party and never returned, Sadie decides to investigate. She finds a couple of vampires drinking the young girl's blood, and the body is found the following day.Unfortunately, Sadie's investigation comes to the attention of the vampires, who decide she must die and she is violently attacked. She wakes up in the morgue.Sadie decides to use her new vampire abilities to find and destroy the ones who turned her. Her quest is complicated by Clyde Rawlins (played by Michael Chiklis), a detective whose daughter is a victim of the vampires.The only negative I have is how Sadie experiences pain after being turned. She's dead. She's a vampire. She shouldn't be physically suffering like she does.That said, however, it's a great movie and I enjoy watching it now and then.

Rise: Blood Hunter (Unrated Undead Edition) I first caught a glimpse of this movie on the Sci-Fi Channel and I was intrigued. I purchased it from Amazon and for the most part enjoyed it. Lucy Liu was awesome as a modern day reporter that is turned into a Sexy Vampire out for revenge against the Vampires that turned her. Michael Chiklis (Fantastic 4, The Shield, & The Commish) was great as an alcholic, revenge seeking detective who's daughter get's turned by the same group. The only problem I had was the filming jumped all over the place without any segue (Example: one minute Lucy is in the trunk of a car and without any rhyme or reason she is back in a bar. Then later on she is breaking oyt of the trunk). It was still enjoyable as a Vampire Film.

So I took a chance on this one:  B001HY4TIW I am happy to report that this Blu Ray is region free and plays on my Sony region A player here in the United States. Also, the description lists the language as French, but upon loading the disc you able to select English or French menus and the audio tracks are offered in English 2.0 and 5.1.The video, as mentioned, does play on USA Blu-Ray players and is formatted to fit a 16x9 screen edge to edge. This is a crop from the original 240:1 in theaters, which can be had on the Unrated DVD, but hey it makes for a great viewing experience. I have seen both and the Blu Ray has much better video quality than up-converting the Unrated DVD, if you can live with the 16x9 crop, which I can but some cannot.Quality is great, image is great, audio is great, story boards are great, cast is great and the movie is great. AAA+++ if you are a Vampire, Lucy Liu or Michael Chiklis fan.Rise: Blood Hunter on Blu Ray that you can watch on your American region A player. Woo hoo!

LUCY LIU DOES, ALONG WITH THE GREAT MICHAEL CHIKLIS, A SUPERB JOB AS A SUBTLE AND NOT SO SUBTLE VAMPIRE. AS SHE.......TURNS......OTHERS INTO VAMPIRES, THERE IS A SENSE OF CONSCIOUSNESS AND POSSIBLY REGRET. THE DARK NOIR SCENES ARE SUBLIME AND THERE IS BREATHTAKING SUSPENSE BEGINNING IN THE VERY FIRST SCENE, WHEN THE TWO GIRLS GO TO ANOSTENSIBLE PARTY🦷, WHICH DOES NOT TURN OUT WELL. THE LOCATIONS ARE TERRIFIC AND I ADVISE SEEING THIS IN THEDAYTIME. YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE BITTEN👦👩. SOME REVIEWS WERE VERY ODD, TRUST MY JUDGEMENT, I NEVER MISLEAD MY READERS. this is a good film about a girl played by lucy liu she wakes up in a coroners freezer to find she is a vampire so she goes on a mission to kill all involved.I'm not to in to vampire films but this is a good one would rate very high lucy liu is grate in this film it has a good twist well worth it.

LUCY LIU IS GREAT IN THIS BLOOD SOAKED VERY MESSY VAMPIRE FLICK.SHE IS ON A VENGEANCE TREK ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO GET REVENGE FOR TURNING HER INTO ABLOOD SUCKING BEAST OF THE NIGHT.SHE IS AT HER MOST SEXY BEST.THE POLICEMAN FOLLOWING HER TRYING TO WORK OUT WHAT SHE IS UP TO BECOMES A GREAT DEAL OF HELP .
