This gel delivers fantastic curl definition and is moderately good for frizz control. I follow the “curly girl” method and like this gel best when used on a shampoo day. If I’m just conditioning, the results are not as good. Product has a mild fragrance and is lightweight. I add additional product like a leave-in or curl cream. I’m always hoping the next product I buy for my curly hair will be the magic bullet and this one falls shy of great.

Been using this stuff since high school, but I can't find it in the salons anymore. It's seventeen dollars and on most days I prefer it over some of my 60 dollar products. My hair is usually rough and dry but with just a little bit of gel and a lot of diffusing, I never get that crunchy gel feel. The smell isn't good nor bad, it nearly vanishes anyway after drying. If you're on a budget and want to keep your curl, I highly recommend.

I have thick, curly, very dry hair, and I only wash it twice a week. I use this mostly for perking up my curls between washes. It's good -- it tames curls and makes them look defined but not crunchy, and doesn't make my hair look dull, either. I'm withholding the fifth star because it does weigh my hair down when I use it between washes, and it can't be used on its own after I wash my hair. I only tried it once without an additional styling product and that was enough. It didn't defrizz very well by itself on wet(ish) hair, either. I'll continue to use it until it's gone, but probably won't buy it again.Update May 18, 2016: I've continued to buy the defrizzer since this review. It's the best product I've found to get my curls under control between washes. It's great for taming bed head and making my hair un-frizzy and un-flyaway. It does weigh it down some, but not nearly as much as gels and mousses, and doesn't make it all stringy and dirty-looking, either -- it just looks like hair. (It always surprises me how few products do that!) Still withholding the final star, because it's still no good for just-washed hair. I have Joico KPak styling oil and Curl Please contouring lotion for that, though, so not a problem!

I use to love this product and used it daily with fabulous results. The product became hard to find so I was excited to find it in amazon. Unfortunately this isn’t the “ real” product or the company changed the product. The results with this product are now very disappointing. It no longer helps define the curl or tame the frizz and it leaves the hair crunchy and hard.

Love this stuff! I have very naturally curly hair and this really helps keep it from frizzing up. It only takes a very small amount and I have long hair. Any more than a dime sized portion and you will get that 'crunch' that you do with most similar products. I love how it makes my hair smooth and soft. I will definitely be using this from now on.

I absolutely love this stuff!! I added it to my regular product routine and it was a total game changer! I have very long, thick, curly hair (I call it curly, I think technically it's considered very wavy since I don't have the tight coils some do) that would always end up super frizzy by midday but this stuff has transformed my hair! Of course I still have a little frizzing sometimes but even on the most humid day we've had here it kept it mostly in control which is a huge step up for me. I hardly use any hair spray anymore after using this unless it's a REALLY humid day. So glad I gave this stuff a shot!!

I have used this with several other products to thicken & hold the curl in my hair all day. This photo was taken at the end of the evening, my hair stayed exactly like it was when I fixed it that morning. So happy to find it on Amazon, I have had trouble finding it at beauty stores where I purchased it for several years.

I love this, smells nice, flexible hold, keeps my hair really soft and minimises frizz. Very good in bringing put my natural curl.
