California Costumes Kids Headless Horseman Costume Large (10-12)

This costume was great, it was easy to get on and off. My son loved it and so did everyone else. It took longer to trick or treat because people were stopping my son to take a picture with him. He loved every bit of it and said if it still fits next year he might wear it again.

Perfect for son’s halloween.

Great costume. I added a “floating pumpkin mask” with fairy lights on the inside, so it glowed once it got dark and looked like his head was floating in front of him. I had to secure the part of the costume that covered his eyes to the actual mask with safety pins. The mask over the top of the head was very hot though because of the latex, my son was drenched in sweat after an hour. I heated the head portion with a blow dryer and placed it over a soccer ball for a few hours so it would lay flat around his eyes and forehead. Overall the quality was very good, cape was sheer and hung nicely. Our Sleepy Hollow/Headless Horseman theme was the hit of the neighborhood.

I bought the XL for a two reasons. First because it wound up being cheaper than the large. Second because all costumes from past experience have a tendency to run small. My son is size 8 and the XL fit perfectly with a little room to grow. The headless part didn't fit. Too small for my kid's head, thus the reason for 4 stars. I'm going to have to get creative and figure out some kind of alternative. Cardboard, felt, and paper mache shall be incorporated. He wants a pumpkin head anyways. So, that solves that dilemma. Anyways, the frilly part is lace. The picture of the XL shows it as solid fabric. AND the costume does not come with pants. I think the description of the costume said that, but I would just like to reiterate that pants are not included, nor are the boots.
