Pretty easy to do yourself.
We had a bad storm with horrible wind and I couldn't get our awning down by myself before it was ruined. Watched a video on changing and was finished with adjustments in about an hour with 2 people.

Great replacement for original arms.
These arms are much better than the original. The ends lock in place so when you tighten the extension arm nut they stay much tighter. I installed myself and they came out awesome.

Exact OEM Replacement - kind of
The arms were an exact match to the Carefree Traveler Awning that we damaged the arms on. Unfortunately Carefree quit making the motion sensor with the three buttons like is on our 2018 Newmar in 2020 or so. In talking with a Carefree technician, I discovered that the motion sensor is in the motor head, secured with double-sided tape. I removed it along with the “phone type” cord that runs down the arm to the coach, and installed it on the new arm. It works almost perfect. For some reason that I’ve yet to determine, the awning begins to retract after it finishes deploying. I stop it, extend it to full out and shut the power switch off for about 20 seconds. When I turn the power switch back on, the awning stays out. The three settings on the wind sensor switch work as before. They should since it’s the same motion sensor.Carefree wants to sell you their new switch and motion sensor. You can go that route. Or you can scarf the old motion sensor from your old motor head and easily install it in your new awning arm.It was relatively simple and straightforward to replace the awning arms on my coach because they were an exact match to the old ones. The only problem I ran into was that a few of the holes in my coach were stripped out because the mounting lag bolts are set into a thin fiberglass wall. So I had to drill and set some new bolts in existing holes in the metal arms. Don’t neglect to use silicone on all the bolt heads and under the awning arms against the coach where the bolts are located.

Good replacement
Travel'r Arms to replace originals. Some parts bent a little - fixed with pliers. Some mounting holes did not line up with original. New design missing a 'stop' for adj pitch slide arm. No instructions - but they are on Carefree website. Package should absolutely carry warning that arms are under tension - and will spring open when wrap/ties removed. Overall - works and mostly looks like original.

NOT UYNIVERSAL
While the ad reported this item as "universal" it is anything but. It lacks the attachment end piece where the awning roller actually attaches. I contacted technical support at Carefree to search for the necessary parts and was told that NO parts are available unless you purchase the entire spring assemble that installs in the awning roller. If it hadn't been an emergency I would have returned the arms for a refund. To make it work I had to cob together old parts and the Carefree arms. Very disappointing.

Perfect product
UPDATEWe have had this awning for awhile now and it has held up nicely. The original review was just giving my husband a hard time but he is very handy and was able to not only fix the arm that came bent but repair it completely himself. He did a good job because he has still left the awning out in high winds lolMy husband was able to repair our awning after a gust of wind took it down. This is the second time we have had to replace our awning because my husband refuses to listen to me when I tell him he should bring it in. With the handy repair man it cost $2,400 but with my husbands doing it himself (completely by himself because I couldn’t help) we only paid for this.BE AWEARThree stars because it came bent. And if there is a bend or crack they are more fragile and can break easily. My husband “fixed” it so will update again if we made a mistake and didn’t return since it was damage. But time will tell. We were in a tight jam and we’re headed on a long trip from south Texas to the pan handle of Oklahoma so we needed to get it taken care of. So we made due.Husbands experience He can wire some things here and there. He suggested to watch a YouTube video on how to do it to make sure you feel comfortable. Or have help on hand. Skill level? Not skilled enough to bring in the awning with high winds and rain. But smart enough to repair it.

Great part but no instructions or tips.
Replaced our old arms and motor with this one. Fairly straight-forward install but there were no instructions in the box. Some complained that the motor wires were too short and that would be the case if this were a first-time installation and not a replacement. Trailer manufacturers run a separate set of wires from the inside motor control to the outside of the trailer. The wire used to connect this motor is only long enough to get you inside the trailer but not some convenient place to mount the controller. The kit does include a switch and electrics for it but not enough wire for a brand new installation. We took off the old hardware leaving only the aluminum span attached to the awning itself (the round tube the awning rolls up on). Installed the arms, wired the motor using the existing wire coming from inside the trailer. Putting the old awning back on is a little tricker, you have to let the awning unroll a bit (or all the way) and lift it into place while collapsing the arms just a bit. That is a two-person job but it is not difficult with a pair of ladders. There may be a better way but it was quick for my teen-aged son and I- about 45min. Just don't try and do it outside if there is any breeze. The Motor is strong and quiet. It is nice having a working awning again after a microburst threw the last awning and arms up on top of the trailer!

Disappointed
The description said they would replace the bent carefree arms on our 96 motorhome, looked like they were exact replacement but after putting the new awning on and setting the tension on the end caps, the two pieces did not slip together properly. I had to get out a file and try to figure out what to file while still holding the tension. Eventually I was able the hammer them on with a rubber dead blow mallet. Lesson -make sure all parts fit before you commit. I would have ordered new end cap/springs also, before trying to do it my self if I would have realized they weren't going to fit.

Carefree rv power awning arms
Items were as described , quick shipping, would buy them again. Everything was there but the instructions which I downloaded off the Carefree web site. I had the old style Manaul arms and upgraded to these power ones.

Great price and quality awning arms
We had one damaged arm on our trailer and after looking for used parts decided to order these up. I was very happy to receive and look over the parts. Quality built, package and shipped. Unfortunately they would not work on my trailer so had to return, and am back to looking for used part to use my awing again. If can confirm these are the right arms for you, would have no problem using them!
