Simple installation, but plan ahead!
The Fleximount overhead storage is pretty good! Installation isn’t hard at all! The tricky part is figuring out where you’re going to mount it!! Seriously, think this step through before buying! Make marks on your ceiling and measure out where it’s going to go, that’s a decent first step. More important second step, figure out if your ceiling joists line up with that plan!!! Mine did not, I had to adjust my plan when I was ready to install. And of course things wouldn’t line up perfectly for me to make the last minute adjustment work easier. Once you have your joists located and your layout planned, the install is actually really darn easy! One gripe I had was that the instructions don’t tell you sizes on any of the bolts. So if you’re okay eyeballing a pilot hole drill bit and the socket bit then you’ll be fine (metric 13 or 1/2” bit FYI!). This isn’t that challenging on the socket bit, but make sure you’re going smaller on the pilot hole without going too small! This is really an area Fleximount could improve. Though, they do send a manual tool for you to improvise together... it sucks too!Last bit of advice; make sure you have a buddy or two when you’re ready to lift the panels up to hang them. The metal is very flexible and it will completely bend and potentially break the bolts holding the panels together without center support. It took three of us to hang the panels without stressing the whole structure in the center and causing it to buckle. This might make you feel uncomfortable with how “flimsy” it might feel. But the flexibility of the metal isn’t a bad thing and it keeps overall weight down allowing you to store more of your junk up there! It isn’t bad, just be prepared and plan accordingly for it. Have hands in the center when you go to lift.Big plus, if you got your measurements just a hair off, the ceiling brackets can easily be loosened and shifted even with the whole thing assembled and mounted on the ceiling. I noticed I got mine a smidge off on one side (by 1/2”!) and it caused the whole thing to cant in that direction. It probably would have been fine but it bothered me. So I loosened the ceiling brackets and tapped it over. It was then level and perfectly inline, 90 degree angles. It is very forgiving for little mistakes. As long as you’re anchored to the joists... everything should be fine!

Good storage for over garage door
This is a great option to use the ceiling are to save space in your garage. I bought one of these to install above my garage door and it's been great to have that additional storage space. The install is a little difficult because you are mounting the brackets to the ceiling and have to ensure they are lined up well enough that they will align with the mounting holes on the base of the rack. It's not terribly difficult, more annoying. Mounting it a corner also make some of the bolt tightening less than ideal.

Great product, good service, happy customer, but product could have a few slight improvements
Firstly, this was one of the most intuitive assemblies I have seen. You dont even really need the instructions. The only challenge here is finding the studs and planning placement of the brackets. I had a few obstacles to work around like my garage support bracket. Plus I have joist running one way for part of it and the other way for the other part if it. It helps to get in the attic to see what you have to work with.As far as quality, I am an engineer and really appreciate the straight forward design and the heavy duty hardware. The cages could be a little better supported though. One more bar or two would help or thicker metal for the cage itself. I had to be a little strategic not to put all of the weight in the middle (like stacks of paint cans). This is much less of a problem when you have larger heavy items as the load is evenly distributed. Now it may have been fine but I didnt feel comfortable with the bit of sagging. Another benefit is these shelves butt up to each other nicely and you can even bolt them together for more stability and to make it a more seamless shelf. I have 3 across 2 walls and it looks like one massive wraparound shelf. I didnt have the problem some people had where it sagged in the middle. I am guessing that was an install problem. There is a support for the middle on both sides with 4 bolts and there are 4 more bolts tying the two pieces together underneath. My guess is someone forgot to put the bolts in the bottom. Another nifty thing I liked was all the nuts and lag bolts were the same size socket that was really convenient. I had a drill with the allan bit and a battery powered socket wrench and that was all I needed. As far as stability, it's pretty solid. If you hit all the studs I cant imagine this thing going anywhere. Yes it moves a little if you dont have it against any walls so I guess for that application thicker drop brackets would be nice. For me, it is against a wall on all sides so not an issue. If I wanted I could bolt them to the wall as well but I feel pretty good about it as is.Also this seller is very responsive. I ordered the dual set and only one showed up. I contacted the seller and they responded in just a few days on a weekend to provide me the other tracking number!Good service and good product. I would buy again for sure.

Great product but expect installing this to take longer than you think
I'm used to putting things together but this took me way longer than I thought it would take to install. In part because my ceiling is 10 ft high and my garage was crowded so it took a while to move the ladder around and get into safe positions to install the ceiling brackets. Even so expect this to take a few hours even with a clear garage unless you're super fast at putting things together. That being said the build quality is very good and the instructions are clear and all the parts fit together. So the product itself is definitely five stars but installing it is a pain in the butt and you definitely want to have a second person help you lift the final 4 ft by 8 ft grid into place.
