I had to search frantically for a roof bag when we couldn't take 2 cars on a camping trip with us due to a breakdown. I have never used one before and for the price I wasn't sure how it would hold up. After 1 use, in extreme heat and torrential rain, I am so pleased with this roofbag!! I read the instructions, they are clear and pretty straight forward. I added another strap for my own piece of mind but it was not needed at all. The bag and straps are well constructed. My things were kept dry and the bag did not shift at all during my trip. (I even tried to see if there would be movement by filling it completely, and taking my car to a empty parking lot and did some fast, quick turns prior to my trip). As long as you follow the instructions for filling and strap placement, you should be fine! I highly recommend this product - it saved my trip! For reference, I have a Subaru Impreza Hatchback, I bought the large and thank goodness I did because the extra room was fantastic! It fit well on my car! I did purchase a white non-slip material (separately) because the bag itself does not come with it which was my only complaint. The mat was from the dollar store and worked perfectly. (Its a non-slip roll for drawers and shelves) so for a couple of bucks it was an easy fix.

We bought this bag to carry extra items on a 950 mile trip. As far as the bag's performance, it was excellent. We used the EasyGO egp-aut-001 Car Roof Top Rack Anti-Slip Padded Cargo Pad under it and it didn't move an inch in all those miles (see reviews of this item also). As for the roof bag, we purchased the 15 cu ft model as opposed to the 11 cu ft one. We probably should have gotten the 11 cu. ft. model because we had extra room. That said, the bag itself performed flawlessly. It arrived at our destination in great shape except for a few dead bugs on it. It showed no signs of wear. I read many reviews before buying this bag and have to say that I just don't understand how you could end up with water inside the bag unless you ignored the instructions which come with it. Okay - let me say this - this bag was tremendously difficult to pack and close. Here's why. My hubby and I are both short people and we were putting this on top of a Hyundai Tucson (a smallish SUV) and I'm sure the neighbors poured a glass of wine and watched the show with amusement. Hubby is 5'5" and I'm 5' - and both pretty round! we are often referred to by friends as "the gnomes" Placing the pad on the roof was pretty easy - make sure the roof is dry and clean before you start. (I would not use this bag without the pad - it really kept everything in place). Next put the bag on top of the car and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!! (follow the instructions, too). Load the bag. For us this involved opening the doors, standing on the inside of the door sill to be able to get to the bag. We employed step stools and step ladders but it was still difficult. Zipping up the bag was a challenge. The zipper is really hard to close and takes some finessing it. Be sure to close it all the way and turn down the flap over it. Because of the size, the bag was not as full as it could have been and also because of the zipper challenge we left some extra room. We were finally packed and tied the bag down. Our Tucson does not have a roof rack so we had to secure the bag with the straps through the doors and tightened as much as possible. I would assume that if you attach the bag to a roof rack it would be a much quieter ride. The noise on our ride was that of wind coming through 4 slightly open windows along with the flapping sound of wind going over the bag and straps - it was LOUD and annoying. Of course the faster you go, the louder it gets. Optimal speed was around 70 but over that it was pretty bad - for over 900 miles. That's the only reason I considered giving this a 4 star instead of a 5 star but then it didn't appear to affect the performance of the bag in any way - it was just horribly annoying. To sum it up, the bag holds a lot of items, it's waterproof and windproof, it does what it's supposed to do and does it well. Yes, it's noisy if tied down through the car but I was warned about that by other reviewers. I'll be using it again on our return trip in the fall.

I've had two bags for about 9 months now. Very happy with the product. The material is a little stiff when it's cold, but it's pretty tough. It's kept out rain and dust well. Additional wind noise is negligible. The included straps work well. Would recommend.

I am pretty surprised with quality of the roof bag, it adds a tonne space for long trips, it keeps the water outside and its simple enough to install. The straps don't get loose in the middle of the trip, which was a concern for me in the beginning. The material isn't that flexible, which makes it hard to work with but I guess its better to hold the wheather conditions outside of the package. At the end of trip it gets nastily full of bugs outside, at least in the places I went. But it has nothing to do with the product itself.

We got this for a short camping trip for our 2017 subaru outback. It seems very well made, waterproof and theoretically easy to use. It's not complicated but it was awkward to load, zip and secure. The product seems very good for what it is but we're going to get a hard box for ease of use. This would be good if you weren't planning on loading and unloading a lot or maybe if you brought a step ladder to make it easier to use.
