For my son who does welding …

Smooth side of the leather is in, unlike many other brands that have the rough side in. Trying it on and for me the cut is quite nice and it sits well. The jacket is true to size (for me) with enough space for overalls underneath. Normally I have issues with shoulder and chest sizing so something that fits ok for one measurement will not fit the other. I am not tall but have 53inch chest with 38-40 inch waste. The arms are a bit long but that is normal for me and nothing I can’t work around. Stitching is neat and looks like Kevlar thread. The jacket has a good weight to it indicating nice thick leather which is also nice and supple. I will update following further use.

What a great protective jacket. I use this at work and my colleague has now purchased one also. The size is definitely smaller than given, make sure you order the next size up and you should be ok. You feel very well protected when burning or welding, definitely would recommend.

Don't do a lot of welding, but this jacket fits me well and provides protection from heat and weld spatter. It is relatively heavy which shows the leather is reasonably thick and durable.

Having got burnt when welding underneath my Land Rover I decided to invest in this jacket. So glad I did as I completed the rest of the welding without any worries whatsoever. Big enough to go over the top of my overalls and fastens nicely around the neck and wrists. Very good quality.

Future has wife left me... Just kidding. It looks good, and a good fit but I ordered a size bigger and that was a good decision so, please take note of that. It smelled of tannery chemicals but I hung it in a shed for a few days and the smell is gone. The thickness of the hide is also satisfying.

For the money, this is a decent enough item, very heavy unfortunately and will mark badly when red hot metal lands on it but certainly protects you well enough, definately worth having.
