Recommended buy!
Love my generator. Haven't had to use it but it's there when we need it. It came on time and the driver helped me to unload it. Easy assembly and set up, fired right up on the first try and ran a test on the electric output. All was within expected parameters. Now, it sits in my garage waiting to power my house the next time electricity goes out. 10,000 watts, 220v will run my well, refrigerators, freezer, 2 heaters and lighting, the tv & satellite.Update! This Genset ROCKS! I’m a retired electrician and I wanna tell you, this is an excellent unit. It has been a true Lifesaver! We’ve used it at least 15 times since 2015 and it is Rock Solid! Runs all our TV/Cable/Video, coffee, heaters (120v 1500w Max), fridge, well pump (220 v), microwave and security lights/video. A full tank (7 gallons) runs it for 8 hours. If you’re in an area with frequent power outages, do yourself a favor and buy this genset. When you buy this unit, hire an electrician that knows what they’re doing. Electricity will kill if it’s not hooked up correctly.

Works great.
Bought one recently. Used it to run a large RV and to outdoor fireworks stands. It ran 24/7 for 10days. Only stopping a few times while we added fuel and checked the oil. Started up perfectly every time, even the very first time. My only complain is the vibration worked loose a few screws. Not a big deal, but that could have been better built from the design. Overall, I'm very happy with the unit.

Great generator to power your home.
Plenty of power. I've had mine 6 years. Never had one problem with it. And I've had to use it several times. Couple of times 4-5 days because no electricity. Run on a full tank for about 12 hours. And I've ran almost my entire home on it and never bogged it down. Electric start works fine. Pull start also. Only run highest grade gas in it, which is 93 and non ethenol. And crank it every month and run it for 5- 10 minutes when not having to use it for power outage. Change the oil, take care of it and it'll take care of you!!!

I only shut it down to change the oil at the recommended 50-hour interval
I put this generator to the ultimate test, five days without power running it basically 24 hours a day. I only shut it down to change the oil at the recommended 50-hour interval, which is an easy 5-minute procedure. I have a 4,000-sq-ft home and this ran everything I needed, including lights, heat, TV, internet, gaming console and more. I even ran the dishwasher once. The book says it will burn 8 gallons every 11 hours at 1/2 load but I was burning only about 12 gallons every 24 hours. I have three 5-gallon gas cans and so had to go to the gas station to refill once a day, which was great. I was somewhat skeptical of this generator since the sale price I got was only $500 but it ran like a champ and kept my family comfortable and warm for days until the power was restored. Gives me confidence I can make it through the next Nor'easter.

but 500 hours of run time would make me happy. Besides
I'm writing this review on behalf of my wife! We purchased this generator for $599. I can't expect it to last forever, but 500 hours of run time would make me happy. Besides, it will only be used during power outages. As far as the wattage goes, you can forget even 8K. A 10K short surge I also put in question. May stall if that surge is more than a split second. I ran every test possible with a straight 8 hours of run time and load tested this thing. Once you hit 7K, it's a little too much for this thing to handle. You can forget getting 8K out of this thing unless it's a quick surge. With that said, It will safely do 6K consistently. After all, that's all you will need to run your whole house (Not you central air). I have an electric water heater, so I just shut it off and keep my well pump on, and if I need to heat up the water, I shut off the well pump until heated and visa versa. I don't know what these reviewers are talking about with gas quality and octane rating, I always put high test in all my small engines "Period". I spent $200 and converted mine to propane so I can run it off my large 500g tank. Only used it one time during a overnight outage due to a car hitting a utility pole, but never used it for extensive or multiple days. It's a cheap generator and I can only hope it lasts that 500 hours. I do like the fact that this thing is heavy because it says to me that it has much field windings. People who complain about the weight of a generator don't understand them. The heavier, the better. If you want to run your central air, you must find something with a 50 amp plug. I have a window unit back up in case I get a summer time outage. You must always change the oil in these small generators, and perform monthly run ins for at least thirty minutes under a light load. Change the spark plug every year regardless of use. With a little luck, this thing may last a while.

Look
Used mine four or five times in the past 2 yrs. it runs worst and worst every time I use it. I don't leave fuel in it and changed the oil twice. Would not recommend this even for the price.

Gentron. 10,000 Watt Generator
Great powerful generator. A little on noisy side but not too bothersome. Love the electric start. My old one from Sears was a pull start. Getting too old to be pull starting anything. Son can have my old one. Will be getting electrician to make it easier to hook up to house system upon power failures. This unit starts on first pull and or within 3 seconds of electric start function. Did not purchase from Amazon as Sams Club had good sale on these units @ $799 w/free shipping. Assembly was somewhat a pain and adding initial oil also due to clearance restrictions. You will benefit by having a funnel with extended flex tube.

Runs everything very well
I've been out of power for 2 days now. This generator has run everything in my house including the well pump, hot water heater, AC (not central), fridge, lights, etc. etc. Not once has it given me any concern. The problem that people have with generators of this size is lack of proper wiring to the house. Anything over 10 gauge is too small and even at 10 you run the risk of too much amperage if the length of the conductor cable is too long.
