don't waste another minute looking elsewhere for a better deal
IMHO: don't waste another minute looking elsewhere for a better deal... it doesn't exist. I am extremely happy with this system. I believe it has been well thought out and tested. The NVR (control box) hooked up quickly when hard wired to my existing router. With the software going when I turned it on, I plugged all 4 cameras into electric outlets near the NVR, and within minutes all 4 were up and running without a hitch. I played with the software on the NVR and set every camera up as I wanted. I explored the capabilities and messed around in awe. The software is excellent. The cameras are fantastic for day and night vision. It is almost TOO easy! The cameras, mounting equipment, wires (with very long extensions for the cameras to plug into house electric) and the main base NVR unit are very well constructed. In fact, I cannot believe you can get this high quality gear for the price it is being sold. I was duly surprised and impressed!Having raved about the product I will offer some insight to a few relatively minor issues... the instruction booklet that comes with the hardware is a quick set up guide. it is not very explanatory to the total capabilities of the system. I downloaded the owners manual for the NVR and the cameras from the Reolink website. These are well written and allowed me to drill down deeper and understand a lot more. Some of this you will learn as you go - as with most hi-tech equipment, the more you use it and explore, the more familiar it becomes and the more "aha!" moments you will have! Trying to place the cameras, I was twisting ad turning and trying to figure out the best way to mount them so I would have an acceptable view... then I discovered that each camera is incredibly easy to customize, with multiple set screws that you loosen up, which allows the camera to set up in any configuration. Customizing it then to what you want becomes easy peasy! I located the areas where I wanted them to be mounted, loosened up all the set screws (Allen wrenches provided... and they are very easy to loosen, tighten, etc.. you don't need a lot of force and when the wrench is inserted properly, they fit like a glove), and generally found what I wanted for a view. I then loosened the set screws that hold the camera to the mounting base, slowly pulled out the arm from the base and let it hang on the wires as I drilled and screwed the base into the wall. I them remounted the arm, pulled the wire through - be careful when you mount the base to be sure that (a) the wire exits in the direction you want it to be less visible, and (b) the wire sits in the groove properly so when you tighten the base mount you don't pinch the wire (yup, I found out the hard way on both of these suggestions lol!). Then with the software running on my iPad (or phone) I watched the live view as I adjusted the camera to where I wanted, and patiently tightened the set screws until I had the view I wanted. One Caveat: These cameras do not have the PTZ capability (Pan, Tilt, Zone) that is shown in the software ( I assume the software is written for use with many of their systems, and some of the higher priced equipment may have these functions), but after discovering how easy it is to customize the view by setting the cameras up and adjusting with the set screws, it is a function I will never miss. I was also told these cameras do not have optical zoom capability, but I have found that this DOES work with these cameras.I am having a wifi issue at my home that makes 1 camera difficult to use in the location I want - but this is not a fault of the equipment... I have always had a difficult time extending wifi throughout my home (I believe because there is metal fireproofing material in the garage). In any event I emailed Reolink tech support on Saturday and did not expect an answer back until at least Monday. The website says hours are M-F, but I had an answer back on Sunday! Very helpful, but I emailed back for more clarification,as my situation is somewhat unique. I expect I will hear back again promptly. BTW, they did not just spout off something already written in the manual... the suggestions were definitely individualized for me. I did purchase a Netgear extender and hope that setting this up as suggested by tech support will solve my problem. Otherwise I will find a different location for the camera! I know it works perfectly well when it is in the system and can be reached, but going through 2 thick cement block walls, with fire retardant material, has always been an issue for me.I cannot give this system any better marks. On a 1-5 scale it is a 5+++.I just bought this system on Amazon last week. It came very quickly (2 days), and was impressively packaged. I am NOT getting compensated or getting any monetary advantage (discount). I simply think this was a great purchase and I hope to help others out by posting this (rather long!) review. I did a great deal of research, hemming and hawing, before I ordered this set up. I wasn't intending to spend this kind of money at first. But after reading about this system, and now seeing it and using it, I could not be any happier!Addendum: It has been several months now, and the system is still a 5 star purchase. I have had one camera that has been inconsistent, dropping the signal countless times. I had a very timely series of responses from customer service and after testing the camera according to their instructions, they are replacing the camera under warranty. Since the first time I emailed them when I purchased this system, I have been very happy with their customer service. They obviously stand behind their products, and in my humble opinion, customer service is a huge selling point when I buy a more expensive item, especially with electronics. I rate their customer relations on a scale of 1-10, as an 11~!! I also purchased 2 separate additional cameras that were not a part of this system per se, but w\they seamlessly operate within the same software when I bring up the cameras on my PC, phone, iPad, etc.In short, I could not ask for better service, or a better product. I am extremely pleased with the company and their products.

This package was amazingly easy to assemble and get it up for testing
Just purchased this system and installed today. I had an older wireless D-Link system I could never get it to record video. My house is an older 2 story and running wires up from the detached garage was not really an option for me. This package was amazingly easy to assemble and get it up for testing. Everything worked right out of the box. Just follow the bouncing ball on the onscreen setup and it is a snap. For the price of the system, the cameras were in good quality with lots of LEDs. Naturally with a wireless system of this type, you need to plug into an outlet for your 12 volts. What impressed me was they actually included long rolls of wire for extension that plugs right inline and I could make long runs through the attic or over rafters in the garage. The quick assembly instructions are printed small even with my reader glasses on. You will have to go to their website and do a bit of searching to find the right manuals for this system and download for more detailed instructions for fine tuning. The allen wrenches I see complaints of were fine and not sure how people or stripping out screws. The 3 pigtails off the camera have one for power, reset and POE. Not sure why they have a POE plug on this unless the same camera goes with another system made for it. Installing was really easy and will require fishing your power wires if your outlet is far away. Just plan out accordingly. Now for the bad part. Three of my cameras were not "line of sight' and the signal was only "1" bar due to the walls of my house which I consider normal for a homeowner product. Too much skip video and drop signal for me and was disappointed. The antennas are Omni directional on the NVR and luckily I had a couple of unused directional paddle antennas that are made for 2.4 and 5 ghz from my drone made by Alpha. I just replaced them and got everything up to 2 and 3 bars. Problem solved. Picture quality is nice and shows up well at night. Finally got a system that records with all the bells and whistles you could possibly want for remote viewing and setting the sensitivity for motion detection. One this I would recommend getting is a 12 volt split adapter if you are going to put two cameras up in the same proximity. Will save you from having to use up another outlet with a their adapter. You can get two of them from Amazon for $6.59 here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GPRLQCC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
