Excellent product: can't go wrong with Anker
The media could not be loaded. Excellent build and quality, such a nice USB-C to A adapter cable is worth a big chunk of the price on its own.Easy to install the SSD, performance is as fast as expected (~1000 MBps read/write) and, despite having little contact area, the case seems to dissipate some heat of the drive. Still needs care when writing for very extended amounts of time at max speed, but so do most enclosures. Note: double-sided drives will not fit in this enclosure.Regarding portability, I was inclined to go for other brands with toolless enclosures, but the whole package becomes extremely portable with the included pouch. You can fit the enclosure, the cable, included mini screwdriver and spare screw and don't even notice it's all there. It would have been nice if the pouch had a way to close it or at least secure the contents, but otherwise it's great.Overall, very happy with the purchase and price-quality ratio (especially when compared to other brands' enclosures). Would definitely recommend it.

Very Nice Product
This adapter seems very solid and nicely made. It was very easy to install an M.2 2230 size (very short) drive. Just open the case, plug in the drive and insert the screw (provided) to lock it down. Close it up and that's it. Took about a minute. The dual USB cable supports USB-A or -C connections making it easy to connect to new or older systems.I connected it to my laptop, drive was detected and came up instantly. Very fast and no issues at all. This was to recover some files on a failed laptop making for a very quick recovery.Because of the size and speed this can support, I may start using these for external backups.

Makes for a fantastic external drive
I bought this after I realized that my then laptop only had room for 1 nvme. I had planned to use it to clone my drive over, but ended up trying it out with the nvme drive through a USB C port. I was so surprised at the performance I left it that way and could even reliably play games off of it. I'm sure it isn't as good as a normal installation, but it allowed me to use both drives instead of sacrificing 500 GB of space. The metal is very sturdy and the installation process was easy (except for losing the screw but that was my fault).

Works as expected
I use this enclosure with an SSD which I took out as I upgraded the storage of my laptop. I use it to store music. So far no issues. It works well with both USB plugs. The case feels sturdy and is easy to open. The little fabric bag is nice, but storing the cable could have been solved a little better. Not a big deal for me. I like that the cable is short and that it is replaceable. It plugs via USB-C into the enclosure. Though, I advise doing proper research when buying a replacement cable, as the USB-C standard is quite a mess.

Anker quality in a specialized peripheral
M.2 is one of the fastest standards on the PC market, which makes it one of the best options for data transfer. The cost is sometimes prohibitive, but it is extremely useful to have more than M.2 SSD. If you are in the habit of storing large amounts of data such as high quality pictures and videos, audiobooks, most modern video games, or even the entirety of Wikipedia, you will immediately appreciate the existence of a fast and capacious medium small enough to fit in a pocket.Operation of the enclosure is very simple. Install an M.2 SSD with one of the included scews, close the case, and connect it to a USB 3.1 port. Indeed, the process would be even simpler if a longer cable was included. I have never seen the point in cables shorter than 3 feet, because you can always bunch up the length you don't need. Many setups do not have a convenient resting place for peripherals that can't be more than three inches away from the usb port. This invariably leads to unnecessary wear and higher likelihood of damage, since the enclosure may fall off the cord and jostle the very delicate M.2 SSD.Overall, the build quality is excellent as usual. Speeds are good, even through USB. If one has the means, one could own several of these hot-swappable enclosures. As M.2 falls in price, the possibilities will be endless for portable storage.

Much better than I was expecting
I've purchased a lot of external drive enclosures over the years. Several from StarTech, others from various smaller brands, and all for a diverse collection of form factors.Of the many enclosures I've purchased, this one is by far the most premium. The aluminum exterior is sturdy rigid, the caddy for the drive itself is tight fitting with a satisfying and reliable-feeling tool-less locking mechanism, and the USB-A to USB-C adapter attached to the braided cable is sheathed and attached by a tough, resin-like rubber rather than the stretchy rubber I was expecting. All in all, a very impressive little enclosure that yes, also works perfectly.

Slim, good chip inside, great cable - what's not to like?
I'm a fan of Ankers products, particularly their iPhone cables. Everything seems very well designed and they definitely stand behind their products. When shopping for an enclosure I wanted something with the latest bridge controller chip, and that was a good size (compact). It also had to be good at dissipating heat which if you do your research is something to consider as the chips do run hot when doing large transfers. During the large transfer I needed it for (2TB Samsung) the enclosure did get very hot and the transer speed did drop from about 600 MB/s to 250 MB/s, but I believe that is intentional from the chip and is designed to protect the memory. So no complaints there.Easy to install and I'm glad I paid the small premium to protect my $600 memory chip. And the cable is excellent - that alone is worth the premium. It was money well spent IMO even though I was tempted with the cheaper alternatives.I'm still a fan of Anker as this product did not let me down. Keep up the good work!!
