Works great
Works like a dream. Great for blending without breaking out the big one. Recharges quick and runs for a good amount of time. Nothing super special about it, but it feels amd performs like a quality kitchen gadget.

Hard to use
I generally love the Cuisinart kitchen products, but this one apparently didn't get field-tested,I bought this because I trust the brand and I have many of their other appliances. The price was good and I didn't want another corded appliance in the kitchen.I use this thing outdoors at times. It's a nice kit - I like the detachable blender and whisk. The plastic beaker isn't needed and it's way over-packaged.Nice looking for a gift, but twice as large as the box needs to be.The whole unit is also about twice as big and twice as heavy as a plug-in model with a cord. They twist on fairly easily, but only one way.It should twist on from either side (180 degrees). The charging too much longer than I expected - 4 hours. But, the worst experience, however, was actually trying to use it.The instructions are predictably unreliable - poorly translated and incomplete. You have to press down a "lock" button for some silly reason, before you can press the ON button. It's not intuitive and it's in an awkward part of the appliance. It has On mode and a pulse mode, but good luck figuring out how to get there.it's poorly engineered and disappointing, because otherwise, it's sturdy and a nice size.Since you can take off the implements, it's easy to store in a kitchen drawer.

Great until it gives up in a year Customer Service first rate!
My original review was a "1" . Basically the unit did exactly what it was supposed to do and what I wanted it to do until it quit. I was angry - then I contacted Cuisinart support - and WOW! They were very helpful, explained that my item was actually stale inventory the shipper had sent me from stock that was not for the American market, but if I provided the Amazon invoice they would honor what I thought was a generous warranty from my date of purchase. They are replacing the unit and I don't have to go through the exercise of shipping it anywhere.I have several Cuisinart products, never had a problem with any of them before this, and they sure came through. Let us say I am a happy camper. My original review is below:I don't know what to say. It was great when it worked, I did not abuse it, I kept it clean. but it just gave up and no longer charges. Wire is in as new shape. So presumably battery has to be replaced - but really, it gave up in one year?

Beware! This unit is likely to be already old, and the battery will fail
The battery on this unit failed after less than six months. I found out that it is a proprietary lithium battery. I was directed to Batteries Plus to replace it, but they told me that they would have to receive the replacement battery through Cuisinart, and it could take up to two months to get it. Though I purchased this less than six months ago, it had been manufactured three years ago and had been sitting on the shelf all that time. The Batteries Plus expert explained that a lithium battery just sitting around will "eat itself." So the unit was worthless after less than six months. When it worked, it was a good unit, but the battery failure made it worthless. Also it will not operate when plugged in, so I now have a doorstop. Replacement will take up to a month. I am extremely disappointed.

Cuisinart rocks
This is a great handheld mixer. We had the corded version before grabbing this one. Same quality and effectiveness but now cordless! Battery lasts a long time, very easy to clean and use. I've been very impressed with Cuisinart products, definitely not a company to rest on their name, they've kept up with creating quality products. Also gotta mention their customer service is amazing.

Not my favorite
I got this as a replacement for a plug in the wall Hamilton Beach that I used for over 15 years before breaking. This one is a lot larger than I thought, but it's powerful at least. The whip is pretty big too compared to my last one. While it does get the job done it has a couple features that annoy me. The safety is not designed well, and messes up the flow. You have to hold one button in, wait for the light to come on, then hit the start button. It takes a second to register the safety, and because it's a digital sensor, sometimes it doesn't register. So you constantly are messing with the safety getting false starts and it really gets frustrating. The biggest issue though, and I won't make this mistake again with any kitchen product I buy, is that it's purely battery based. This means that it has to live on the charger or you're going to have to pre-charge it every time you use it. You can't just plug it in the wall and have it work from a dead battery. Lets be real with ourselves, nobody uses an immersion blender THAT often, and if you do it's for very niche reasons. Most people want to put it away and get it out once a month, or even once a year. The other thing is that it doesn't come with any sort of wall mount or anything. So you just basically got the big motor section sitting on your counter or cleverly placed in a drawer that now is going to be glowing blue at all times because of the indicator light while charging.I mean live and learn, it's not worth returning, and it does a really good job when you do use it. But yeah, vote NO on battery only operation on all of your gadgets this election season.
