Ultra Light-duty and Compact
This tripod is compact and light, Ideal for my Sony HDR CX-240 Handycam or a GoPro, The hook attached to the bottom of the center pole is probably needed for hanging extra weights or anchoring the tripod down on especially windy days. That's how light it is. If you have a larger, heavier SLR camera with a long lens, you will need a more durable tripod.

My oldest son has taken up photography for the high school year book and also spends a great deal of his time capturing videos of all manner of trains. This tripod does a great job for both his camera and video recorder - light, easy to setup and move - perfect piece of equipment for his use.

I purchased this for a work project. It functioned, but a few pieces fell off when I was in the field. The broken bits didn't seem to damage anything very essential, but I haven't used it too often. It did fit in my backpack, so it was easy to take on the plane (normal backpack - not backpackers).

Not worth it!
This tripod is EXTREMELY flimsy. There were no directions in the box to instruct you on how to use the different adjustment knobs. Right off the bat, when I was trying to attach the camera to the base of swivel (or whatever it's called) a tiny plastic piece and spring popped off. It's also hard to get fluid video because it doesn't easily move/swivel even with loosening the knobs all the way. I haven't tried WD40 but maybe this will help. I recommend not wasting $20 and buying something a little more expensive and a little more stout.

Not too bad
A little bit on the cheap side. Gets the job done and priced right. No regrets here it is was I expected.
