Just arrived, they were well packed and no chips or imperfections from manufacturing or shipping are visible.I ordered white, and wasn't expecting the subtle gray horizontal line pattern, but it looks good and even a bit classier than pure white. See pictures that show the barely visible striped coloring on the outside body (not inside or on the handle).The ceramic is slightly thinner/lighter weight than other similar mugs/bowls, so these might be more prone to damage. Will update the review if so.Overall, seem like these will be great large mugs for soup or chili.

ProsSize - perfect for a nice serving of soup, gumbo, chili or stew. I could not imagine using them for coffeee but they were not purchased for coffee.Appearance - Very attractive. A bright color, subtle stipes and a nice shiny glaze.Functionality - I have severe hand arthritis I searched hard for soup bowls with handles big enough to make holding a bowl easy and painless. This are 100% perfect for my needs with handles are generously sized and functional rather than just ornamental.So why only 4 stars?The cons:I usually hate when someone lets a delivery issue affect their review. However when these arrived one bowl was broken. The replacement set they sent also had 1 broken bowl. Compound this with my already having chipped a bowl during normal use, and I think it becomes more than a delivery issue. I have been treating these bowls with kid gloves ever since I chipped that one because I like them so much. So I feel compelled to warn others that they are undoubtable on the fragile side. As someone who was clumsy before loosing grip strength in my hands I do not for see them lasting very long in my home without breakage. Yet at the same time I also think I would replace them with the same bowls if this is the case.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Was even happier after getting in hand. Believe me - they came just in time for this Winter Storm in the South! We have consumed a lot of soup in the last few days and they worked perfectly. They are Dishwasher, Microwave, Freezer, and Oven safe. I haven't tried them in the oven or freezer yet, so I can't verify that claim. The only problem was that one was broken during shipping and I had to replace it. They are wrapped with a very thin bubble wrap and separated by cardboard. Amazon shipping is to blame for the breakage... they threw it in a bigger box with nothing to protect it. But the replacement was easy. I bought the Red ones and the color is true to the pictures from the supplier. And they ARE 24oz despite a couple of other reviews. I tried it with 2 different measuring cups and got the same results. You can see in the picture the result with my 4-cup Pyrex and 24oz of water. They are too full with 24oz in them though to safely carry something hot. But at 22 to 22.5 oz, I would be very comfortable handling these mugs. I would definitely recommend these soup mugs to anyone.

Using measuring cup to check, the capacity of the cups is 23 ounces when filled to the brim (checked all 4 with same result). Really holds 22 ounces with no spillage or slop. Main concern (also mentioned by another reviewer) is how light-weight they seem. 2 other mug sets (22 ounce capacity) I have are much heavier than these are. Worried about durability. Time will tell.

I bought these because I essentially live on hot cocoa during the colder months. These mugs are fantastic for it because not only are they big, but they are wide enough to hold the copious amounts of fluff and/or marshmallows I love to adorn my cocoa with. A mugful of milk heats in about 3-3.5 minutes and is enough to fully enjoy a healthy helping of cookies or just warm you up good!

The quality for the price ($7 off coupon) is shocking! These mugs were well above and beyond what I was expecting. Very beautiful red color and the large size is perfect for coffee to soup and cereal. Love these mugs!!!

These attractive mugs are a perfect fit to hold my husband's large portions of soup. I'm sure they would be good for coffee as well. He likes the thickness (or rather, the thinness) of the mug; it feels good on his lips. He also likes the fit of the handle. He's a big guy with large hands, so the shape/size of it are good for him.

Sturdy, soup or cereal bowls with a wide, comfy handle. These do have a subtle pattern on the outside (tone on tone striped, slightly raised glaze) that I didn't notice in the original pic, so don't perfectly match the rest of my glossy white dishware, but the size and function are great. (They're also ever so slightly creamy in color, rather than bright white.) Have three kids so bowls with handles are one of our most used pieces, and these have nice straight sizes and good depth.
