MistUKF8001 Replacement Compatible with Whirlpool Maytag, 4396395, EDR4RXD1, Pur Filter 4, Kenmore 46-9005, Refrigerator Water Filter 3 Pack

I ordered the three-pack and immediately after the first install, the fridge reorder light came on and wouldn't go off. After the until was in three weeks, the replace filter light came on. I thought maybe that was a bad unit so I used the second one - Remember these are supposed to replace the OEM filter and last 6 months but when the package arrived, the package says "last 3-6 months" - and the second until did the same thing. I will not be reordering this brand. I will not the water tasted as good as with the OEM filter so that was not an issue.

I bought a 3-pack to replace my other Mist filter that started having issues with reduced water flow (4-5 months into use). Replacing it with a brand new filter, the issue of water hammering did not go away and I just assumed that it was something to do with my fridge. I bought a replacement water inlet valve just in case, and eventually during disassembly of my fridge, I learned it was just the water filter causing issues.Thus, I assumed it was just a bad filter so I tried another filter from the 3-pack and it had the exact same issue. I gave up, ordered a different brand (IcePure), plugging that in and everything went back to normal. No water hammering or reduced water flow after getting rid of the Mist filter.Both filters are manufactured in China, I was almost worried they were just relabeled generic parts, but I noticed the IcePure filter's inner ring was raised 1-2mm higher than the Mist and when putting it into my Whirlpool fridge, it felt a lot tighter and I had to give it a good twist to secure.All in all, while the packaging for this filter was way more sleek and appealing than the other brands out there, if it doesn't work and worse, causes damage to your pipes, its useless.

I have always used the factory filters in my fridge, this is the first time I have tried something outside factory and the tabs on my water dispense broke upon installing these. It could have been a fluke and maybe they would have broken anyways but this was the first time I use something it wasn't the factory. Upon inspection of these versus the factory, they looked identical and I could not tell anything apart, I even put a micro gauge on there in the measurements are the same. I can't say for sure these caused the refrigerator to break but I won't try them again

I decided for the price to give these filters a try. I usually run water through a new filter for several minutes to clear out the excess charcoal. However, I noticed several large particles coming out with the water. Upon closer inspection it appears as if the particles are algae. I'm absolutely surprised to see any contaminant of any sort in a water filter. I quickly swapped it out with another new filter, which appears to work fine. As for now, I give this filter a 1. There is no excuse for any contaminant to be in a water filter. I contacted the company, but it is now July and I still haven't heard a thing from them.

These filter lady longer than the actual whirlpool and cost less.
