These old fashioned fans comes in clutch! It gets hot in church. I didn’t want one of those battery operated travel ones or rechargeable ones to add any weight to my bag. These are sturdy, without adding weight, and gives a nice breeze across my whole face and shoulders where I usually need it most. Plus it reminds me of my grandma who was just a lady!

Hello. This is a nice fan for use to keep yourself cool on sunny days and in areas where there is a lack of air circulation.. When I started online shopping a few years ago I went online to Amazon looking for folding fans for men, and after finding some 12 inch long by slightly longer when fully opened, I noticed 2 things: firstly while some were advertised as being made of fabric, a number of them were actually made of hard paper, which could tear when wet, so I didn't like that. Secondly, the tines were spaced to allow for gripping, but that courtesy was more of a curse, for many Amazon customers complained that while those fans were easy to open, they were hard to close. I concluded that this is because the tines are spaced, which reduces stability during use and closure. This led to searching for folding fans for women. These fans, sold by OMyTea, Amajiji, and Thought, though smaller, were actually more stable, because there the tines nearly overlap each other at the base of the fan. There are virtually no gaps. So I purchased these fans. I chose more black/ white monochromatic and greyscale colours, since colour fashion was not my foremost preference. These fans are durable enough for moderately strong whips of the fan, yet is not to be expected as use for a weapon, despite what we see in cinema and animation. Amazon sells metallic fans used in the Japanese martial art of tessenjutsu, "iron fan technique", and these fans are not those. If the trimming at the edge of the fan begins to separate, super glue may help - be careful when using the glue. Let's not glue the fan together fully closed, so let the fan dry while fully opened. Before I go, if any of you tend to get a little warm in the restroom, while "relaxing", these fans have given me a gentle breeze, keeping me cool and comfortable while I "go". Something to think about.

This fan is very pretty, a nice departure from the bold patterns on hand held fans we often see. I love the neutrality of the silky black. It's slightly smaller than other fans, but perfect to pull out of your handbag to fan yourself when the room is too warm.

I wanted something cute to fan my face in between applying toner, serums, and moisturizer during my AM/PM skincare routine. I love that it comes in a cute case. It’s also the perfect size. I just hate that it doesn’t close all the way in one try. I always have to manually fix it into place each time which is annoying. Other than that, it does what I need it to do so I can live with that.

I initially received this fan as a gift and liked it so much I bought 3 more!The fans are sturdy, well built and have lasted more than 2 years with fairly consistent use. They come with a small decorative satan case that the fan fits into perfectly. The frame is a sturdy plastic and the fan material lightweight and has retained the design without fading, flaking or unraveling.

In dealing with the effects of menopause I've found fans in strategic places to be helpful. But flimsy fans are awful. This fan is substantial, moves air well and has quickly become my favorite hot flash rescue!

I give this fan a 3 because while it does produce a nice amount of breeze when I'm using it, it does NOT collapse nicely. I have to fiddle with the folds and bend them the proper direction WAY TOO LONG! The process is aggravating when I need to put it away. I feel the material used to make the fan is a little thin and the folds are too tiny to allow for proper storage. (I'm Japanese so I know how a fan should operate). The carrying pouch is pretty, though. I don't recommend this fan unless you don't mind constantly fixing it.
