Can you turn it horizontally to write on?

No. You can shorten the legs to stand it on a table. You can rip off ashgerbof paper and pin it horizontally but you cannot flip the tripod itself.

Has anyone hung this on the wall?

We don't recommend to hang it on the wall becuase it is a easel whiteboard. Please email us if you need further assistance.
