Q: Will a wired controller fit in this case?

I think so. I have the wireless but for PC, and that cord fits even with the PC receiver. My problem is the cord, specifically the receiver part, turns the wireless controllers power on, but you shouldn't have that issue.

Q: Is this protective case really for an xbox 360 controller? or is it the same exact protective case that's being sold for the xbox one controller?

I don't know about the other case, but I got this for my daughter's wireless 360 controller for PC. It fits the controller perfectly but the adapter doesn't really fit. It might be ok with a cord only. If you have wireless controller this case is perfect :)
