Does this machine make regular coffee as well, or an "americano" style coffee?

If you mean, regular coffee, then no. We have had ours for only one day and have brewed about 20 cups. Coffee you can see through regardless of the settings (we tried them all). Tried Americano with already ground coffee, it would start and then cancel itself. Plus, we are used to 10 to 12 ounces of coffee and this only gives about 7...and can still see through it.

When it goes into standby mode, the power button doesn't work to turn on. I have to unplug/plug back in to electrical socket. Is my unit defective?

I had the same problem when I first purchased my unit about a year ago. I decreased the standby mode to 30 min and that seemed to help the problem. I later increased it to 1 hour standby. If you have a long stand by mode, it takes longer to wake up with repeated pressing of the on button. I haven’t had that issue anymore, although it was very annoying and embarrassing when I had company over.

What is the largest drink size in oz. mostly for the Americano drink?

6.8oz for the americano ,,,but the coffee maker freezes it does not turn on I put a video and they raised the price like 400 dollars they are scammers go to best buy and buy it bale 850 dollars

When in fully automatic mode (not using pre ground), does this machine use freshly ground beans for each brew or beans that were ground 2-3 brews ago?
