DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TABLET!!!
This is the worst 7" tablet on the market!First, they call it 8 GB Internal Memory, when IN REALITY, it only has 5.6 GB of memory, 3 GB is consumed by the Fire OS!!!!!! Which leaves 2.6 GB for YOUR APPS! I set it up to save APPS, Documents, Music, e-books, all downloaded media to the 64 GB SD Card, AND I only have 747 MB of Internal Memory LEFT!!!Then, Customer Service is a joke, for their ANSWER to this problem is to "FACTORY RESET" the device!!! All of my data would be deleted, and I would have to re-install ALL my CONTENT!!! WHICH GUARANTEES NOTHING!!!!THE FIRE OS WILL STILL CONSUME 3 GB OF INTERNAL MEMORY SPACE!!!Leaving the consumer stuck installing apps, downloading e-books, and copying data that they NEED on the tablet to be able to USE it DAILY!!!!In 1980, when your 8088 IBM PC froze, you "CTRL-ALT-DEL" it to recover the OS!!!In 2019, when your Fire Tablet runs out of internal memory, you "CTRL-ALT-DEL" AKA "FACTORY RESET" it, and MAYBE it will work, maybe...Buyer Beware! If you need a work day tablet, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!anomaly...

WILL NOT HOLD A CHARGE. WILL NEVER BUY A FIRE AGAIN
This kindle is a disappointment. It will not hold a charge. I have followed all the instructions for rebooting, re-setting to factory default, a new Amazon charger, and now a replacement Kindle and STILL the same issue - will not hold a charge.I have never had so much trouble with Amazon customer service. I have been disconnected, have a hard time understanding their English and have had to re-call to try and find someone who can help.I have been a prime member for 11 years. This is very frustrating.

This is a steal for $50 as long as you aren;t expecting a "Premium" experience.
I pre-ordered this for my wife mostly to use as a Kindle E-reader as I figured the tablet would be slow and the display would be less than impressive. I was wrong. What a bargain this little beauty is! This model cost $49.00 but it comes with ad's displayed on the lock screen when your tablet is dormant. Once your screen times out, they disappear. You can pay $15.00 up front to get an ad free version so I assumed to unlock the tablet I'd have to spend 15 to 30 seconds looking at an ad for Amazon Prime, or a product from the daily specials section of Amazon.com I abstained from paying for Ad removal and was pleasantly surprised to find that the ads are only on the lock screen and that as soon as I unlock the tablet they disappear immediately. Here are my pros and cons thus far.PRO:Perfect size for Ebooks, and web surfing to alleviate strain on the eyes from my 5" phone displaynice sturdy casing that gives it a nice heft but still weighs in as one of the lighter tablets on the marketChild Accounts- Amazon allows you to set up this tablet with age restricted access for kids making this a low cost piece of tech that is perfect for school kids and allows mom and dad to ration the amount of time lil Johnny can play Clash of Clans and how much he can hit the ol' Visa card for.Battery life thus far; wife was on it for about 5 hours last night and battery was at about 46%Kindle Integration -this goes without saying but having my ebooks and audible books synced to the tablet is awesome and my Kindle books look greatPrice - it's a $50.00 tablet that looks and performs as well as ipad mini gen1CON:Screen resolution - if you're looking for a premium screen res on par with your latest smart phone or HD tablet look elsewhere. I'd say the resolution is on par with an Iphone 3G or the original Kindle Fire gen 1Web browserThe built in "Silk" web browser isn't very nice and the interface is reminiscent of IE on mobile devices. I searched the APP store for Google Chrome or fire fox but apparently those aren't available.CameraThis has a camera in the strictest sense but it's 2MP camera is slow to load and it's nowhere near on par with the 10MP most mobile devices are boasting these daysThe weak ass speakerOK. So I wasn't expecting a Bose sound out of this thing but the on board speaker is just not very good. Poor sound quality, and weak. My wife was attempting to listen to our Amazon Music library the other night and was underwhelmed with the quality. I haven't attempted this yet, but I'll be paring this to our SONOS bar or my Bluetooth headphones for music or ebooks.SO there you have it. Despite some of the flaws in the design this is just a fantastic deal for $50.00. SO much so that I ordered a second one for myself and plan on purchasing a 6 pack as Holiday Presents next month for my nieces and nephews. If you are new to tech and want to familiarize yourself without spending a heft sum to get into the game, or if you're looking for a durable yet inexpensive piece of tech for your kids, or if you LOVE e-books then this is the unit for you.

Can't Remove Ads or Apps, Battery life very limited
Paid $20 to remove ads. That lasted quite a while but in the last year, every time I restart the tablet, there are ads on the top of the screen. There are so many Amazon and Fire apps that can't be removed or taken off the home screen that the screen is cluttered. Only need internet access and email yet have to see ads for books from Amazon and can't get rid of them. If I delete one, another will take it's place. Due to poor battery performance, if I leave the tablet alone for a couple of hours, it will turn itself off and I have to recharge it to turn it back on. My wife has a ten year old Galaxy which she never turns off or even puts in standby and it will remain charged for over a week. Mainly, I don't recommend this tablet because you can't remove ads or apps. Some of the apps I have never ever used and some have only been opened accidentally. At least ten apps are on the home page that can't be removed. Another problem is the photo storage. On my PC, I use folders to segregate my photos by topic. Makes it easy to find a photo of a certain subject. I quit using this tablet to store my photos because you can't do that with this thing. All the photos are in the same file and you have to look through over 2500 photos to find the one you want to show someone. I can find the same photo on my laptop in less than a minute, so naturally any photo I want to share, I turn on my laptop and wait for it to load because it is still faster than trying to find the same photo on this device. I would not recommend this tablet to anyone who doesn't want to read ads for books every time they pick it up. I bought it for a backlit Kindle but found out very quickly that the library to too cumbersome to use to find a book to read. Then it became a way to share photos and that was useless. Then it was only used to check email and you have to open any email that you want to delete. You can't delete scam emails without opening them first. All that was left to use this tablet for was the silk browser for internet access. And of course those pesky ads ruined that. You turn on the tablet, tap on Silk and some other app opens because in the second before you tapped the screen, the ad pops up at the top of the page, moving the app you tried to touch down an inch or more and you tap the wrong app. Since this is garbage, that is where it is going, unless I save it for a gag gift for an in-law at Christmas.
