What's the point of this thing?

I am recovering from rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder. I can’t lift more than one pound at this point my recovery. My right arm is plenty strong. I can lift my 60 lb. weight distribution hitch and place it in the receive by myself. Great product.

I put grease on my ball (hey, no smart allick comment !) and I'm afraid this will not "hold" because of the grease. Does anyone know?

Yes, it holds fine when used with greasy balls.

I have a hitch with a 2" ball is there one for that size?

Not that I know of, and the Hitch-Grip ad only shows usage with a 2-5/16" ball; which I have. works great, but DO NOT use it on a Reese rotating/interchangeable ball. It can fall off when the ball rotates and if you're lucky, it will just miss your foot by 2" like mine did.

If you use it with an equalizer hitch will it work if you leave the swing arm bars on?

With my equalizer hitches, it is perfectly balanced without the bars with the handle facing forward. Adding the bars will for sure tip it back away from the receiver. If you turn the handle around so that it faces rearward, it might work to change the center of gravity and balance. But, that is a heavy load, as was said above. Suggest leaving them off for safety: your shins and toes.
