Arrived without being scanned at point of sale, turned out they didn't have scanners there and no one else could scan the phone. I sent it back.

I wanted a low priced, small phone, with the ability to fit in a shirt pocket. This phone meets that need. I had an older Samsung, but dropped it and the screen cracked. That was the reason for the purchase, but I would not recommend this phone to anybody.First, it wouldn't accept a micro Sim card.Second, the camera is horrible. Can't do close ups. Fuzzy pictures. Zero rating on that. The older Samsung had no problems with either.,

Check if the carrier you want works with BLU J5L before buying, many don't. Reach Mobile does.The BLU J5L runs the basic Android apps that most people need, but a cut-down version. It is on Android 10 (Go Edition) which is not the same as regular Android 10; I didn't realize this. So far, the difference I have noticed is that it doesn't do widgets. I was able to download and use Outlook and Microsoft Teams. It is probably better to not have widgets, they are too attention grabbing anyway. I also noticed that the camera doesn't take very good photos. It says it is 8 MP, but I have a 4 MP camera from 2000 that takes better photos. Evidently megapixels isn't everything. Also, the screen looks cheaper (I am comparing this to Pixel 6 which I have been using recently) and there is a slight pause when opening apps. The BLU J5L is usable, I just answered emails on the train, but it isn't as, shall we say, shinny as many smart phones these days. In a way that might be good because I will be more likely to think of it as a tool that I use when I need to instead of a shinny new toy that draws my attention even when I am trying to concentrate on something else. I do like the size of BLU J5L; it is about the size of iPhone mini.I got the BLU J5L at Target for $80. My friend got a Samsung Galaxy A03S from Target for $86. The Samsung phone is noticably better. The catch was the Samsung was locked to AT&T but the BLU J5L was unlocked, so could be used with any carrier. I was surprised at how very affordable the pre-pay AT&T "plan" is. You can likely find a similar or cheaper monthly plan with more data from no-name carriers using an unlocked phone, but that comes with other trade-offs (deprioritized data). If you are debating, you might be better off getting a higher quality locked phone, just do the research on the plan you want in advance.

It's a simple phone, a little pricey for what's delivered. The worst is the 2 week window to return, receiving only a fraction of paid price back!
