Try without action device first...
I made the mistake of giving this fish to the cats with the action device; which is quite nice - I think - but who am I to rate it as I guess that is up to the cats. The action did not startle the cats at first, but by the third and fourth time they were done with it and wanted no more to do with the fish. One cat got quite startled and still will not play with it again. After two days without the action the younger cat will now play with it.

So cool
The media could not be loaded. I've been wanting to get one of these and see if my cats would like it, and this one popped up. It's cracking me up watching them with it. At first they were like WTF but were fascinated with it, and finally started giving it a slap and a punch after a few minutes. It's kinda loud though, but I like how it switches between ...speeds? (Fast flops, and slower flops Idk) on it's own and pauses for a few seconds before it starts again. I can't really comment on the quality because it just arrived and works completely fine. Anyways, this thing is really neat, I'm glad I bought it.

Flopping Fish
Bought this item as a toy for cat, delivered later than promised by Amazon Prime so off to bad start. Fish came with two bags of catnip so I put one in fish, even though scent wasn't very strong. Turned on, put on floor and waited for cat to see it. Cat finally took notice but didn't seem too interested, just walked away. Oh well, the floppy fish is soft, very colorful and around a foot long, when touched it flops around on the floor making noise as it flops. It also can be recharged by using a usb port, just use the included charging cable. I think it's a great toy for an interested cat (our cat is older and maybe lost interest in that type of thing) and I definitely would purchase again. Well worth the price for a cat toy, and if the cat doesn't like it I think little (and big) humans would enjoy watching it just as much.

It was cheap but my cat didn't enjoy
It was cheap so I bought it to try as a toy for my cats. They didn't like it, they sniffed it and walked away. They were not entertained.

Stopped working
Was fun when it worked - which was only for about the first month.

Cat ignored but dog loves it
So the cat ignores this but the 186 pound Newfoundland can’t get enough of it! It has held up after being paw slammed and carried around room to room in his mouth just to be dropped and paw pounded! It is somewhat loud but entertaining!

Is not bad
Well, this fish is not so bad as I have read previous reviews. Three stars (unless those nuances, I could give all 5 stars) for a noise from the mechanism and for a yellow color (a natural fish should look more realistic :) ). It works well if it is charged. My baby is scaring by these tail's movements. Arrived a bit deformed but you can smooth it or just let this fish to "have a rest", for example, while it is charging.
