I have had an HTC 8X from T-Mobile for more than two years, and for a recent international trip I want to have another phone with me during the trip. Since I want my phone to have the hardware camera and bottom three keys, I found out that 8X was my most economical choice at the time. Since I really love my other 8X, I decided to buy this one.I had a lot of reservation when I first received the product. It was not in the original HTC packaging, did not come with a headset (which I think I had it when I received my T-Mobile one, but not very sure), and with a manual that was not for this phone, but a generic manual for old-time HTC Windows Mobile phones. I had thoughts that it could be a refurbished one, although I could not find sign of usage from the phone itself. One thing surprised me quite a bit was that this is a Verizon version of the phone, instead of an international unlocked.Since I enrolled in the Insider program, my T-Mobile phone is with the latest OS updates. I have to say that I was surprised how many OS update is out there for this Verizon phone: sorry that I did not make a grammatical mistale, the number is exactly ONE. Even before I enrolled to the Insider program, my T-Mobile phone received two or three updates. I guess it's possible that they packaged a series of updates into one, as I really don't remember which feature came with which update. It apparently does not have Cortana, notofication center, and other features come with 8.1. What surprised me more was that I still need to update apps by hand.However, I have to note that, this one does run smoother than my up-to-date phone. I have noticed that, as features were added, sometimes my phone got less snappy (some updates do better than others but that's a different story). Since this phone eventually will become my mom's, I decided I'll leave it as it is instead of getting the new features. She won't use them anyway.So, I have a new copy of my phone, with older OS version. It works great, and works well as my second phone. I liked the camera of my other phone, so I assume I like this one too, although I have not tested it extensively. The sticker is humongous (unlike my T-Mobile one), if that doesn't bother you. I love it, albeit the lack of updates and all others.UPDATE on 13 Feb 2015: Just received updates to Windows Phone 8.1, Update 1 I was told. It runs smoothly, even better than my T-Mobile (Insider) one for some reasons (suspected to be the firmware update). It's great.UPDATE on 20 Feb 2015: Realized a weird issue. Although most functions from the asian GSM provider works fine, this phone cannot send text. It receives fine but cannot send. Seems to be a problem only the Verizon version has.

I love this experience with Windows as I am used to using Android devices. I love how the screen looks alive and that that I can change the color of the tiles to suit my mood. It took a bit of getting used to but I love the experience. Some negatives i have experienced though, is the short battery life. I literally have to charge this phone minimum twice a day sometimes once depending on how much i use it for messaging. Also, the phone loses network signal at times, even though my network is operating on 4G and the phone itself can operate on 4G/LTE.Still a great purchase for those who are looking for another experience besides Android.

I purchased what I believed was a 16g phone. I received an 8g phone in a 16g phone package. I emailed the company and requested a return of the the phone, they refused to let me return it. After MUCH frustration, I was finally able to receive a full refund (they still wouldn't let me return it). I then started using it. Within a week, it had stopped working properly. I had expected to be receiving a quality phone, I got a cheap rip off. I had a USED htc phone for over two years, and this one stops working in a week? I don't think so. No way they are selling the real thing. Especially because I called htc and they told me that this version of the phone isn't even MADE as an 8g. Don't buy from this company, it's not worth it. Their products are cheap...and fake.

Love Windows Phone, came from Android and work with iOS all the time. Windows Phone is stable, but is still missing a few different apps. Ecosystem is a little behind, but Windows 8 / Windows Phone 8 / XBox is a nice combination. Feels good in my hand and love the screen size. Quick smooth and easy transition.It was exactly what I was expecting. Jumped right on Straight Talk in the U.S.. Phone was from the UK, so I had to download a few language packs, and a new keyboard, but took less than 15 minutes.I would say it was perfect, except the charger is made for U/K power outlets. Don't know why I wasn't expecting that. Did come with a converter though, so I will survive. Micro-USB isn't hard to come by anyways.

This cell phone is refurbished, associate a verizon. A other thing is the battery not hold by 1/2 day. the cellphone has nice looking but the battery is not extraible and is a waste of battery not hold the charge by 1/2 day.

I totally loved my phone for its short lived two weeks. The lock screen button got stuck now I can't turn it off, on or do anything. It is such a beautiful waste of 200.00. I am so disappointed. This was my first HTC phone. I am never buying another HTC again. I can't risk that much money for a two week phone.

For starters, it wasn't unlocked. I ended up going with the phone company it was listed under instead of my choice. Too much hassle to try and get it unlocked. As for the windows programming, it's mostly ok. More user friendly than android. There is still quite a lot I haven't figured out yet and it didn't come with any instructions or basic user information, so I'm learning as I go. It has a good feel when you handle it and I still love the look of it.

The phone itself and the speed with which I received the phone were great. The only issue I had was that, since it is a verizon phone, it could not send or receive picture messages under my plan (T-mobile). The ability to edit the APN for picture messages was locked, and therefore I decided to return it. I have since learned of an app for windows phone called "Network Setup" that directly fixes this problem on all Windows phones and have used it on my new windows phone.

Si te gusta Windows Phone, es un muy buen producto.Pero te ha de gustar Windows Phone.Ten en cuenta que en el tema Apps va muy corto... haces una búsqueda, y los resultados... rara vez son lo que buscas. Aparecen mil apps raras... de dudosa calidad... y de cualquier idioma. Aún no esta tan depurada la Store.A mi las Apps no me interesan tanto ( salvo las básicas que si están. Instagram, FaceBook, Twitter, Skype, Flickr ) con lo cual no era determinante.Hay gente que esta todo el día poniendo y quitando Apps... si este es tu caso, WindowsPhone no es tu sistema.Otro tema es el Bing. Los resultados de búsqueda no son los de google. Y se nota. Pero te instalas la App de Google ( solo es el buscador ) y esta solucionado.El teléfono ( hardware ) va muy bien. Sobrado de potencia y velocidad.La pantalla es excelente. La cámara de fotos, va muy bien. Las llamadas... a mi me van perfectas. Todo muy bien.La batería? Justo. Entre semana... que trabajo en el ordenador, y consulto muy poco el teléfono... me dura dos días. En fines de semana, que tiro mas del móvil para el Correo Whatsapp e Internet... dura un día.La carcaza, que es muy guapa de diseño, es también muy delicada. Yo nunca llevo funda en los teléfonos... y los cuido mucho. Pero reconozco que el acabado del HTC te pide que seas aun más cuidadoso.Vengo de un iPhone4, y también pasé por un Xperia S ( Android ).WidowsPhone es mucho mas simple que estos dos Sistemas, tiene menos profundidad, y más de uno se aburrirá rápido.En mi caso, habiendo pasado por los dos, me gusta mucho.

Erst einmal möchte ich mich bei Amazon für die schnelle Lieferung bedanken. Sonntagabend bestellt und Dienstagvormittag schon abholbereit gewesen, einfach TOP!! Danke Amazon!!Das HTC 8X ist sehr gut verarbeitet und macht einen sehr wertigen Eindruck. Das Display ist gestochen scharf und die Farben werden sehr kräftig dargestellt. Der Touch reagiert schnell und präzise und erleichtert somit die Bedienung. Apps werden schnell ausgeführt ohne Ruckler oder des Gleichen. Die zweistufige Auslösetaste ist nach meiner Meinung etwas zu leicht zu drücken. Ich komme des Öfteren aus Versehen dran.Das Betriebssystem Windows Phone 8 ist sehr einfach zu bedienen und bietet einen funktionellen Umfang an Einstellung, was etwas an Apple iOS erinnert aber das soll nun nichts Negatives sein. Windows läuft sehr flüssig und macht sofort Spaß. Erst war ich etwas skeptisch was die Kacheln betrifft aber einmal dran gewöhnt, liegen die Vorteile auf der Hand.Was man allerdings nicht vergessen darf ist, dass Windows an sich zwar ausgereift, aber noch teilweise verbesserungsbedürftig ist, was die Einstellungsmöglichkeiten angeht. Zum Beispiel lässt sich der Stromsparmodus zwar aktivieren, aber nicht Einstellen wie bei Android. Des Weiteren deaktiviert man damit die automatische Synchronisation des Email-Kontos. Dies ist dann nur noch manuell möglich. Das ist zwar nicht schlimm, aber der Sinn bleibt mir schleierhaft. Da sollte man nochmal ein Update bringen. Im Großen und Ganzen bin ich bis jetzt sehr zufrieden mit dem Windows Phone 8, welches zu vergleichen ist mit Apple iOS, was Bedienungsfreundlichkeit betrifft.Was mich aber sehr stört, ist der Appstore bzw. die Apps die es gibt. Die Facebook App ist wirklich nicht ausgereift und macht noch nicht wirklich Spaß. Da muss man wohl noch etwas Geduld üben bis Updates kommen. Bitte schnell!! Whats App ist momentan nicht zu erhalten (Stand 12.12.2012)!!!! Sehr schlimm für mich!!!! Anscheinend arbeitet man an einem Update laut Foren Aussagen. Bitte schnell!!! Ansonsten gibt eigentlich alles was man so braucht und Vieles auch kostenlos. Die Apps werden schnell geladen und installiert.Fazit: Ein sehr tolles Handy mit gutem Betriebssystem. Ich bin zufrieden und kann es nur empfehlen. An dieser Stelle eine große Kritik an chip.de und deren Handy-Bestenliste. Ich kann eure Meinung zu dem HTC 8X absolut nicht nachvollziehen und akzeptieren!!! Die Kamera habe ich noch nicht so getestet aber Fotos sehen heutzutage bei jedem Smartphone gut aus. Es ist mir persönlich auch nicht so wichtig.

Ich habe dieses HTC Windows Phone 8X bestellt, nachdem ich mit meinem hier zuvor bestellten Nokia Lumia 920 eine bittere Enttäuschung erleben musste (siehe Rezension "Smartphone bestellt, Flimmerkiste bekommen"). Zugegeben: ich habe das 8X nicht von Anfang an in die engere Auswahl miteinbezogen- wohl aus deswegen nicht, weil das Gerät ab Werk eben nicht so viele Zusatzfeatures mitbringt, wie die Lumia Modelle von Nokia. Die meiner Meinung nach aber wichtigste App zur Navigation, Nokias "HERE" ist inzwischen auch in vollem Umfang und dazu kostenlos im Marketplace auch für das 8X erhältlich.Zur Software gibt es nicht viel zu sagen, entweder man ist für oder gegen WP8. Für mich ist es das perfekte Betriebssystem, übersichtlich, intuitiv und es läuft im Vergleich zu vielen Android-Geräten, die von den technischen Daten her haushoch überlegen scheinen, absolut flüssig- egal ob beim Surfen, Spielen oder Pinch to Zoom Gesten.Was mich nach der Enttäuschung mit dem Lumia 920 hier veranlasst 5 Sterne zu vergeben, ist die wirklich perfekte Verarbeitung des Geräts. Nichts knarzt, das Display ist absolut eben eingelassen, der Lautstärkeregler und der Power On/Off-Schalter haben schön saubere Druckpunkte.Nachdem die Ernüchterung beim Lumia 920 wegen des immer wieder flackernden Displays groß war, habe ich das 8X die ersten Tage auch erst einmal unter allen möglichen Bedingungen auf Herz und Nieren geprüft: Kachelfarben gewechselt, Displayhelligkeit immer wieder geändert, das Gerät beim Ladevorgang beobachtet und über den gesamten Entladevorgang. Fazit: alles so, wie es sein sollte und man es erwarten kann. Kein Flackern, kein Flimmern. Der Akku hält bei meinen Gewohnheiten (Surfen, Whats App, ein bisschen Musik, regelmäßige Mail-Abfrage) im Schnitt 1,5 Tage durch.Ich kann dieses Gerät zweifelsfrei weiterempfehlen!

Es läuft flüssig, schnell, das Display ist sehr angenehm. Wen es nicht stört, ein bisschen mehr Gewicht und etwas mehr Größe in der Hand zu halten, der wird dieses Handy lieben.Das Betriebssystem ist makellos meiner Meinung nach. Ich bin langjähriger iOS Nutzer gewesen und bereue den Umstieg überhaupt nicht. Skydrive ist meines Erachtens iCloud sogar etwas voraus dadurch, dass die Mehrheit ja nun doch Windows (8) PCs besitzt. Mit diesen PCs lässt sich das Leben vereinfachen. Notizen Synchronisieren via OneNote (Ein Programm, das ich früher NIE benutzt habe und jetzt IMMER benutzen werden). Die oft bemängelte App-Armut kann ich nicht unterstreichen. Ich bin jemand, der keine Sperenzchen braucht. Mir reichen Bankingapps, Fahrpläne, Kino, Messaging, Foto, ... alles was der AppStore bietet, bietet auch der Marketplace nur nicht in dem Umfang.Joa ich kann hier noch weiter Romane schreiben, aber meine Empfehlung: Kauft dieses Handy und überzeugt EUch selbst!Ach Ja: Übrigens wird eine Micro-SIM benötigt.

Ich will auf Keinen Fall Überzeugungsarbeit leisten, Aber ich bin Von diesem Handy wirklich so überzeugt, dass ich mir es inzwischen zum vierten Mal gekauft habe. Es ist mir mal Drei Stockwerke herunter gefallen und war danach Futsch, und einen Fahrradunfall mit dem Rennrad vernichtete eines und ein Mountainbike Unfall. inzwischen Habe ich also das Vierte und das überlebt kleine Stürze ohne Kratzer. die Hardware klingt nicht sehr modern, doch der Prozessor leistet super Arbeit und lässt das Handy zu jeder Zeit Flüssig Arbeiten. In Den anderthalb Jahren ist mir das Handy nur einmal Hängen geblieben und musste neugestartet werden. das 'Display ist sehr scharf, Mann muss wirklich sehr genau hinschauen und sich über das Display legen,dass man einzelne Pixel sieht. die Farben können selbstverständlich nicht mit denen eines AMOLED Displays mithalten, zeigen aber Fotos und Videos in realen,natürlichen Farben. Die Frontkamera ist Wirklich die Beste die zur Zeit auf dem Markt ist, da können nichtmal die von S5, ONE und G flex mithalten.Zum Betriebssystem sage ich: Es lässt sich super personalisieren und sieht wunderbar aus. der App store ist zwar nicht so Mächtig wie der von Android oder iOS, aber er hat wirklich alles was man im Täglichen Leben braucht. Die Apps sind meist in einer Qualität die locker mit denen von den anderen mithalten kann, und manchmal sogar noch Übertrifft. einzig kleinere spiele Die ehrlich gesagt sowieso keiner Spielt machen den Unterschied der App zahlen aus.+Kamera macht gute Bilder+Läuft flüssig+Super Sound dank Beats Audio+Tolles Display+Top Preis+Super OS+Perfekte unschlagbare Frontkamera
