The dial gives you full control. Easier than buttons.
I've had this about a month and love it. It seems solidly made. I've had absolutely no problem with the door. When I read the instructions I thought I was in for a learning curve but that was not the case. It really is easy and I haven't referred to the instructions once. I noticed some comments that were unhappy with the 30 second button. Well it turns out if you hit that 30 second button you can turn the dial and get anything you want while it is running from 1 second to many minutes. You are in full control and it is easier than pushing a button several times. The inside of this is easy to clean. It is darkish inside when it is running. There is a light but you can't really see the food well at all. But that is not a problem for me because I don't even want to be looking inside a microwave as it runs. One nice thing about this microwave is that it is not a space hog. What is this with 30 inch counter microwaves? One appliance doesn't deserve that much counter space! this is a nice looking microwave, easy to clean, easy to operate, defrosts well, cooks well, it powerful enough for everything, and seems solid. It is all I want in a microwave.

Great microwave for the price
This is a very nice microwave with a great price. Using the dial for adjusting time and power level is different but not difficult to use. It's looks nice, works well and has plenty of room. One particular thing that I like about it that my last microwave didn't do is that the light automatically turns off after a while if you leave the door open. So if you nuke something that's a little extra stinky you can let it air out without the light staying on.I also had a problem with the turntable popping out of place in my last microwave but not with this one.

Reviews are true!
Works really well and looks great! Samsung did a nice job with this microwave. Easy to clean and I love the eco button for saving energy. Gotta keep those bills down lol My only gripe about this is ALL the reviews being true. THERE IS a defect in ALL of these microwaves, if you barely open the door it will run as if it's on. Now to someone with kids this could be a concern, but my son is grown and kids are rarely here so it's no issue for me. 1 more gripe... the sensor cook is useless... UNLESS you want to make your food meet all kinds of requirements before sensor cooking, but really who wants to do all that work!? Not I, overall good microwave though. However, Samsung NEEDS to do a recall on these for ppl who don't read reviews and with kids.

It's a samsung. Therefore, it's awesome! The dial is absolutely amazing!
We've been using a .7 cubic ft microwave for 4 years now and it was given to us free, so as it started to go out I frantically started looking at the five million options for microwaves and wondered what we were going to do. Once I found this one I was stuck on it. My girlfriend and mom both said $150 was too much for a microwave but I kept holding out on it. And about four days later, BAM it went on sale for $104. Ordered it and two days later plugged it in. So far we've only used it a few times but I am in love with the dial. It's genius! It isn't too loud, the book is very detailed on what each of the few buttons can be used for, and it looks great sitting on our counter! Now all we need is a black stove/oven combo to compliment the black fridge and microwave. If you find yourself coming back to this microwave a few times, BUY IT! I can't see how anyone could be dissatisfied!

Lasted less than three months, broke day after being repaired. UPDATE
I bought this unit at the end of September. Arrived ok, seemed to do the job but nothing special. One big complaint is the lack of light when running, it's so dim you can barely see inside the unit. Also it has a quirk where when you open the door, remove your food, whether or not you clear the timer, it starts up again when you close the door. That's right. Without any buttons being pressed, the microwave continues to run....empty. With no timer, just showing the clock. You have to open and close the door again to stop the microwave. Pretty sure this led to it not working. So December 28th it stopped heating anything. No matter what, no matter how long, no microwaving going on. Lights work, platform spins, fan on, timer works, no heat. So I called Samung. You'd think this is simple depot repair right? Maybe since it's only a few months old they would even cross-ship a replacement since let's be real, how many people have the right size box to return a microwave right? Right?Wrong. Samsung lumps this in with all other appliances. They send out a repair person. With a FOUR HOUR window. So whatever. I agreed, set a date after New Year's for someone to come out. Got the company name and a ticket #. Two days later I got another automated email from Samsung, different ticket number, and says Dish Network is now coming to fix it? Whatever. On the day of repair I stay home from work to wait for the guy. 8am goes by, no repair person. 9am, nobody. 10am, nobody. I call the first company I was told was coming, and give them ticket #. They have no record of me.... I call Dish, they tell me the guy will be there between 11:15-12. And it takes a minimum of 45 minutes for the visit. I can't justify blowing a half day of vacation over a microwave, so I demand to reschedule to a weekend appt. They accomodate me and I have a new appointment for Sunday 8-12.Sunday 8am comes around, nobody. 9, rinse repeat. 10 I finally call them. They are behind and will be an hour late. Two people show up at 1pm. I've been waiting FIVE HOURS. They look at the unit, say it's the magnetron, and get parts from the truck. While into it they also replace the other two common problems on the high voltage side of the circuit, a capacitor and transformer. Doesn't work. They have to call support and spend the next 2 hours testing voltage and wiring on the unit. They get it working as I walking back in the kitchen. I ask what was wrong, they could only shrug and chuckle. NO ONE was really sure what they did or how it started up again. So they leave, all is well.Next day I microwaved a breakfast sandwich, unit worked fine. But it did do that thing again where it ran by itself after I took out my food and cleared the timer. Whatever. I go to work, on the way home Dish calls me, I tell them all is well. I get home, throw something in the microwave..... doesn't work. It's broken AGAIN!!!!!So to summarize, at this point I've spent over 2 hours on the phone with Samsung and a total of 9 hours on two seperate days waiting for repair men, and my microwave hasn't worked in over a week. I start talking to support again, tell them the story, they want to book another appointment and try again. No way am I going to waste 4-8 more hours of my life waiting to have another tech come out and not be able to fix it. There's something really wrong with it. It's not the typical items that go on a microwave. It has a short or bad board or something. I tell the rep this, and that I need a cross-ship authorized. I want a functioning microwave shipped to me. On hold for a supervisor. Comes back to again offer to send someone out. Again I refuse. Another 10min on hold looking for a supervisor. In the end I got his employee number and he said he would have someone call me when available. Not sure I believe that. All this over a stupid microwave. Wish I had just bought a cheapo one at Walmart. Samsung support is a nightmare!UPDATE: No one ever called me. After calling back several times and another hour on the phone, I gave up. They will not send a shipping label or cross-ship me a functioning unit. I was told I have to schedule ANOTHER repair visit and if that person cannot fix it, then they will replace it. The last one wasted 7 hours of my time, yeah, I can't wait to do that again. They do phones well but I will never buy a different Samsung product again. The microwave is coming to the office with me tomorrow where we will reenact the Office Space fax machine scene.

Great microwave.
This microwave is excellent. It took all of three uses to get used to the idea of changing time via a knob and not a button, but now I do not think I can ever go back to regular buttons again. Press start to get 30 seconds, then spin the dial to get whatever time you actually need. Ingenious. This is plenty powerful for warming up everything I have tossed inside. When I first used it it made an awfully loud noise when cooking. Turns out a piece of the venitlated metal on the back had gotten pushed in a bit. Pulling that out made this nice and quiet again.
