This runs so smooth and quietly. Operates as described.....I am VERY, VERY happy with this system.

This Binding System is very effective in the small quantity book niche. We have done about 800 books in the 3 weeks we have had the unit. The punch will punch 15 or so 20 lb bond sheets at a time, but a maximum of 12 seems to treat the machine better - it doesn't growl as much when it punches. The spring insertion roller works well with practice. We have used springs up to 1 inch so far with no problems. The unit seems well made and is much cheaper than equivalent systems on the market.This system can punch and spring bind maybe 20 to 30 books an hour that contain 60 sheets of 20 lb bond with a front and back cover. Small size booklets are also done well, but you sometimes you can't use the auto centering guides on the punch for odd sizes of books, you have to experiment to get the best punch guide positions. In general you have to be careful inserting paper into the punch to get the level row of holes desired.There are not a lot of instructions that come with this machine - but there are videos showing operation on the web - search for "AlphaCoil-E" or so to find them on various vendor web pages.We wish it would punch more sheets at a time is reason we didn't award 5 stars - but the system is practical for low (under 500) quantity book runs.
