Magic Chef Gas Range Oven Stove Ignitor Igniter 12400035

This ignitor installed easily with the provided connectors to my vintage Magic Chef gas stove (Model #: 31CN-19KW). It's probably from the 1960s - 1970s.I couldn't get at the gas valve or electric receptacle without moving the stove, so I installed it connected.The oven had the symptom of taking a half hour to turn on even though the ignitor appeared to be bright. The new ignitor is much brighter and ignites the gas in 15 seconds. The ignition problem happened suddenly; the oven went from about 30 seconds to ignite to about 30 minutes from one use to the next.There are a few very good installation videos available online - don't attempt the fix until you watch a couple of videos to learn what to expect and what to avoid. Worked perfect 5 minute fix

My Magic Chef gas oven (probably from the 90s) stopped working. The old igniter would glow but not trigger the gas to light the oven burner. This was the exact part I needed to repair it. I had never replaced one of these igniters before, so like other reviews mentioned, I watched the video about it on YouTube. I cut power to the stove, took out the racks, pulled off the door, took out the bottom of the oven, carefully removed the old igniter and replaced as per the instructions. I did not have to turn off the gas and remove the entire burner assembly like in the video as it was completely unnecessary in my case. Took about an hour or so since I was cleaning things up as well. Once reassembled, the oven fired up in seconds! It's only been a week, but so far the oven works like new.

The part was a perfect match for the original igniter. It was easy to install and fixed the problem.
