Effective
I have used these in my front lawn to try to discourage moles. I have used them for quite some time now, initially there was a reduction in the number of mole hills and I have now enjoyed a hill free period of a couple of months. They are clearly very effective. The only issue that you might have is that they are audible to the human ear, so I would not use them in an area where you want complete peace and quiet. The buzzing is however quite low level.

Don't bother
Don't bother complete waste of money. No matter where I place these rather than deter the mole it seems to attract it.If I relocate the spikes the next morning there's a mole hill right next to it.

Too noisy
Too early to say how effective these are as I have read it many take several weeks to have an impact. They are not very long compared with my battery operated repellers which are much quieter as the vibrating mechanism is at the base of the probe. I though they would be a cost effective solution as the 4 units cost about the same as a set of batteries for one probe. The mechanism seems to be next to the photovoltaic cell which obviously is not deep in the ground. To give you an idea of noise when we returned home our neighbours thought there was an electrical device alarm going off in the house. Pic shows day after installation. Mole hill was cleared the previous day.

Unfortunately did not work
I don't have a large back yard area and I have placed all 4 in there. Unfortunately I came home tonight to find the rat sat in my bird feeder as bold as brass! I wish they had worked as I'm now going to have to resort to more lethal methods to remove the rat problem.

Noisy.
Be warned these are loud and make a buzz every 20 seconds. Not what I was expecting from an ultrasonic device.

Get a glitter ball as well
Might as well give the mole a disco all it needed was a glitterball,They loved the sound they make. The items are very fragile so don't push them into the ground, use a dibber and make a hole first.Do they work,, they do move the moles, but to another part of the lawn, you may need to make a line of them, and move them every other day, pushing the moles to the edge of the grass. then use a marine flare to burn them out.
