I wasn't totally sure about this while looking at Amazon webpage. It turns out to be better than expected. It is thick/well made yet small and light enough to carry in my pocket for trips to hardware store. Perfect for use at home and have in my smaller tool kit. Wise purchase !

Way overengineered, these gauges are SOLID. Two thumbs way up!

Quality items and perfect for measuring wire

A new low. Wire gauge hole diameters aren't even close to accurate. A piece of Romex 12 gauge wire fit loosely in the 19 gauge hole and a piece of Romex 14 gauge wire fit loosely in the smallest 36 gauge hole. Many of the holes appear to have been drilled with the same drill bit although the printing next to them allege that they are different diameters. They are not. This product is rubbish. Shame on Amazon for selling such nonsense and shame on China for producing such crap. Update: I just realized that I was looking at this gauge wrong. The holes are not intended to be the calibrated measurements, rather it is the *gaps* at the outer edge between the holes that is calibrated to AWG standards. Measuring my 12 and 14 gauge Romex with this new insight produces perfect accuracy. Upgraded to 4 stars - still miffed that this wasn't better documented. Maybe the manufacturer thinks this should have been obvious, but judging by the number of negative reviews I think they are wrong about that.

Does the job. Small and useful. Comes with a keyring.

Excellent tool. Using one or the other almost weekly. They fit in a small slot in my travel toolbox. So far, no rust and I’m in salt air (I keep them waxed). Use is very straightforward. Readability is a bit hard but fine with my glasses!

I would not recommend this measuring tool, since it does not measure accurately the gage size of an electrical wire. For example, a solid Romex 14/2 Type NM-B Copper. #14 AWG wire measures 16 on this round measuring tool. Even on the back side it listed as .0625 at the #16 slot. A #14 wire is 0.0641 inches. Since I primarily purchased this to accurately measure wire sizes and it obviously does not do that, it is worthless to me.
