This is a basic kit but is perfect for my intentions... and you simply cannot beat the price. I wanted just the basics to maintain my stored or extremely limited use gun collection in top condition and keep them clean, well oiled and protected. I haven't used my guns in years but like to "clean" and re-oil them about once a year. This kit is perfect for that or perhaps other low use applications. Hoppes is a very well-known and highly respected company with superior gun maintenance products. The cleaning rod is well made and adequately strong for limited applications. The kit contains everything you will need, including: rod with three fitting options (wire brush, solid head, and slotted head for patches); cleaning fluid; oil; and cloth patches. You don't get a fancy box or carrying case (only an inexpensive formed plastic package) but why pay extra for that when all you want/need are the essentials to do the basic job. It is all there in the kit. If your application/use is anything close to mine (annual or semi-annual) you cannot go wrong buying this kit. It is high quality at a great price -- outstanding value for money!!

Item is as described. Comes with needed items. Oil and cleaner fluids included. Not empty bottles like other listings. Shipping took longer than expected even w prime took a week to arrive. But that ok i guess now. Good deal price. Overall happy n would recommend

Hubby needed to clean his 9mm after a few shooting range trips and he said this product worked great. Only issue he had is that the directions weren't that clear so he had to look up step-by-step directions so he didn't do it wrong. Only issue I have is the SMELL, it is awful.

Perfect travel kit. Small bottle of solvent and oil, cleaning rod with attachments and a handful of patches. All in a convenient plastic case for the best price out there. Everything else is at least $30.

I have a Glock 19 and this works perfectly. I read the reviews and was a little concerned about the slotted swab holder getting cross threaded or breaking so I ordered a brass swab holder at the same time. (Pro-Shot .22-.45 Caliber Brass Patch Holder - very inexpensive) For that reason I cannot address the problem with the nylon (plastic?) part. The threads on the end fit perfectly with the brass part so it must be an industry standard. Works great! Side note: Went to NAPA and picked up their set of three small brushes (plastic, stainless, and brass) real cheap. With this addition I have everything I need in a cleaning kit.
