Great peace of mind
I recently got notice from Amazon that a faucet I purchased on here was being recalled due to lead. I was extremely worried and immediately bought a new faucet but did decide to buy this test and try it out on my old faucet out of curiosity since I have a toddler and I was understandly concerned. I am so glad I did, it made me feel better knowing the numbers were either under 4 ppb or nonexistent which was such a relief. I was incredibly grateful for this product. We did a more thorough test through an outside company and it seems as though this product was very accurate. Easy to do and quick!

Peace of Mind
So, what spurred us to buy this? My husbands blood work coming back with him having high lead levels and us living in an old home (concerned about lead pipes). The instructions were super simple. We had our result in minutes. The good news - no lead detected in our water supply! The other pluses was - it was delivered quickly, the instructions were simple, you get the results fast. This is sooooooooo much cheaper than doing the test through a lab. Now, granted a lab may be more accurate - but this gave us - the "you don't need to worry because it's not even being detected in the water to warrant a more expensive test," peace of mind! Would we use the product again? Absolutely. Fast, easy, affordable - win's all the way around.

Accuracy
I had tested my water with another at home test and it had been positive but with no indication of the level Of lead. This test was clearly negative. Municipal testing is now in process. So I'll have to see which test might be more accurate. It was easy to use and came on time.

Test seems to have problem, suggest more sensitive and reliable test
I was not happy with this test. (1) lead at or below 4ppb (lowest threshold) is apparently still not safe for children especially long term, so even a negative test result is not sensitive enough/not that meaningful (2) testing methods seemed flawed. You are supposed to dropper 4 drops (very small amount), then you are supposed to shake the vial, then suction out “all” of the liquid to put on the test strip. The directions do not point out that liquid is trapped in the cap of the vial. And it’s obvious enough that it’s hard to suction it “all” due to the dropper build (droplets stay in dropper) and some small residue stays in vial. So, it’s hard to functionally complete the directions, and I would think that may skew results to under-detecting lead in water, which is a huge safety issue. In sum, I do not feel reassured by a negative result here, and would like to find a more sensitive and reliable test. I was kind of satisfied with an earlier “WaterSafe” test that I thought gave a different (+) result, and would prefer to re-test with that to trend/see if the first test was accurate/determine final assessment and next steps. I picked this test in part because it was so highly recommended on Amazon, but wonder if there may be a flaw in the recommendation algorithm etc. My concern is, again, this test may underdetect lead, which could be a huge health problem writ large/at scale. Maybe it’s “neutral” that he algorithm pushed this product up/just people being ego syntonically “relieved” to get a negative test and not realizing or questioning if the test is flawed/may underdetect.
