I want to buy a 43" sony. i will need a 6" space beneath the bottom of the screen. the normal legs provide about 2". will this stand provide the space

You will at least have 5" of space underneath because I measured mine since I have the 50" Westinghouse TV. I hope that helps.

Will this work on the panasonic 58 inch plasma tv?

Make sure your monitor or TV has four mounting holes on the back of the screen that are listed in the following VESA standard list: 800x500 / 600x400 / 400x400 / 400x300/ 400x200 / 300x300 / 300x200 / 200x200 / 200x100mm. In addition, please check the distance between the hole in the VESA to the edge of your TV (refer to the 6th picture on the left of the listing,the red circle is the distance I am referring to),make sure the distance should be smaller than 6.1inch.
