Works like new again!
I’ve had my projector for 9 years now. I thought it was having a bulb issue as I’ve already replaced it twice over the years. However after replacing the bulb a third time I noticed the colors were way off. Everything had a green or red tint to it. Plus the picture was still very dim. After doing a little research I found this product and figured it was worth a try to avoid having to replace the entire unit. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. My projector works like new again. The picture is clearer and brighter than ever. I’m very happy I was able to save the $1,000+ it would have cost me to buy a new projector. If you have a dim picture or notice the colors seem to be off I definitely recommend replacing this part before giving up and buying a new projector altogether.

Perfect replacement for Optoma HD142x
In Australia, Optoma will not supply replacement parts to repair shops for projectors sold otherwise than through its authorised dealers, as I found out after travelling about 45 minutes back and forth to a repair shop. I would never buy another Optoma product again for this reason alone. I have further reasons never to buy an Optoma product set out below. This colour-wheel, however, was a perfect fit and works perfectly. The colours are perfect.Would I recommend replacing it yourself?1. It was moderately irritating and took about an hour for someone who had no idea what he was doing. I think it should be do-able for people with basic life competence. You will need a small magnetic philips head screwdriver and a hex head screwdriver of a small-ish size I cannot recall. It would help to have one of those plastic tools they use at phone repair places to prise things apart. Don't touch this thing or the lamp directly with your oil-covered fingers. BUT...2. If this part has FAILED (rather than colours fading, etc) and is making a racket or has jammed, then probably what you'll find when you open up your Optoma--as I did--was that Optoma has cheaped out on the design of their projectors. You will find a SINGLE 60mm fan. The kind you used to see on cheap computer cases and you can buy for $1. You will see that this single fan is totally inadequate to cool the unit. You will find that the plastic housing has been cooked through and become brittle. If the colour-wheel has been jamming or making a racket you will likely find that one or more bolts to the colour-wheel housing have pulled through the now-brittle threads on the case. You will not easily repair that, and can expect your nice new colour wheel to suffer the same fate as the old one unless you do. I will be ripping it open again to try supergluing it in place. Obviously once that is done, the colour wheel will not be able to be replaced again.Do I recommend this colour wheel as a colour wheel? Absolutely. Good quality, works well! But you might consider whether it's worth the time and trouble of doing this repair rather than buying a better quality projector.

Did the job and saved me hundreds of dollars
I bought this color wheel for my several years old Optoma projetor. The red colors were really off because the index stripe on my original color wheel had partly fallen off, throwing off the rotation speed of the wheel. I followed YouTube instructions, slightly broke parts of my crumbling projector housing, but managed to install the new color wheel correctly enough and BOOM: the projector colors look amazing again. I'm really happy with my purchase!

It works!
Get it! It works. I've replaced my color wheel in my projector twice now (Had this Optoma 1080 for like 9 years) Have fun opening your projeector and feeling like a true technical saveant. Make sure your significant other watches you to ensure ultimate peak attraction as they think you're a genius.
