Works exactly as advertised. Lack of an instruction manual
Works exactly as advertised. However taking off one star due to lack of instructions on how to use them. Contains a 58mm reversal ring which mounts on a Nikon camera, and can be used with a lens that takes 58mm filters (50mm f1.8G for example) . Also contains an aperture enabler to use with Dx/G type lenses that don't have manual aperture control. A 52mm UV filter and a 52mm lens cap is also included . I'd recommend attaching the 58mm reverse ring to the lens first before mounting it to the camera by lining up the dots and turning anti clockwise. Attach the aperture control to the exposed side of the lens by lining the dots. Attach the included UV filter (helpful to protect the exposed lens element) . While removing, I found it better to unscrew the lens from the ring first, and then remove the ring from the camera body as you would remove a normal lens. Overall, felt the build quality was good. Takes some effort in focusing and setting exposure manually

Mount metal to metal
Take your lens off of your camera and mount it on the kit's aperture control piece, metal side to metal side. Then, screw the kit's macro reverse ring into the filter end of your lens. Turn the lens around and mount it to your camera, with the macro reverse end toward the camera, and the aperture control end away from the camera. You may have some trouble mounting the lens, because the macro reverse ring may unscrew as you twist the lens counter-clockwise to seat it to the camera. If so, you can stop the ring from unscrewing by holding it with a fingertip. (Or, you could mount the ring to the camera first, then screw in the lens, but I'd worry about cross-threading with this method.)You can now use your camera in manual mode - choose a shutter speed and ISO to match your manually-adjusted aperture, and use the ring on the lens to adjust focus. With the 50mm 1.8g, you'll have to get within inches of your subject. So far, so good for me. I need to try some shots on tripod before I'll know how well my lens focuses in reverse.

Get the complete kit!
With my interest in macro photography, the reverser ring was first on my list. No way I can afford a brand name macro lens at this point. Get the complete kit! Although you can get just the reverser ring by itself, having the extra equipment to adjust your aperture can greatly help with macro photography. You can simply twist the ring and adjust the aperture helping with both the amount of light that comes in and the deep of field (to a point). I could care less about the filter and lens cap, but the aperture adjustment ring is a must if you want more control than just the reverser ring itself.

but if you have the patience for a bit of fine tuning, it works great
Loving this little kit. Really does have everything you need for a basic reverse mount system. As with any reverse mount, you get a very narrow focusing plane, but if you have the patience for a bit of fine tuning, it works great.Seems to be quite well made and the aperture adjustment is lovely.Would definitely recommend for anyone looking at a cheaper alternative.

Cheap Alternative to a Macro Lens
Works well, it's not as great as a legit macro lens but common look at the price. Pretty good build quality and I love that it allows you to adjust the aperture since you can't change it on the camera while using this kit.
