Ambient Weather Wind Cups Replacement, WS-1080, WS-1090, WS-2080 Wireless Weather Station

Ordered this to replace my Excelvan (Chinese) anenometer where the cups departed never to be found. When it arrived, it was a very close match, with the plug on the end working perfectly into my wireless sender. The base was VERY similar, but not quite the same and with a small amount of modification now works perfectly and is more robust than original. The internal system is a reed switch and rotating magnet which is the same as original, and now works with the same accuracy. There is a circular boss with a tri-shaped spline which was larger than the original, so I trimmed some off the spline arms and it fit into the receiver on the roof arm perfectly. It appears they either copied the original or deliberately modified it for proprietaryness, but regardless it is VERY close and the guts are the same. Boom, WX station back on line!

Seems to work fine, but i am now getting random wind reports of over 125mph. Not sure why, my last anemometer never did this.Other from that, this product works as advertised.

This is the perfect replacement part for my WS-2080 weather station. It was easy to install and worked as expected.

Has standard Reed Switch with Magnet setup that older Heath Kits used.

Works just fine but this is my third one, they seem to only last about 1 year

I bought this to replace a set that got smashed by quarter sized hail. The new one stopped working within 6 months, and the original worked for years without issue. I still have wind direction, and on my unit the wind cups attach to the wind direction unit. So the wind cups are faulty and I'm not happy.

WS-1080 model works better than the new one. Fortunately they keep supplying spare parts.
