Get this disc. Instant classic
I've never owned a copy of this disc even though it dates back to my highschool days. The singles are there but the rest of the material is great. Derek St. Holmes voice is the perfect match for Ted's guitar. The beginning of a great collaboration

Amazing Ted
I bought this album in 1975. Have always thought this was Ted's best album. Sad to see Derek the singer leave the band. Happy to have this on cd. Arrived quickly packed nicely. Love it !

Remember when you were the first one you knew to own this album?
I remember making this album popular in my area playing it at parties back in the day, starting the day the album was released. (The local record store would let me know when something new came out).Everyone would say variations of "Whoa! Who's that dude?"On the tour supporting the album Ted Nugent came to town, and I couldn't hear out of my right ear for a week.In any case, this was the one great album by Nugent for me, because it still had Derek St. Holmes, singing, and he had a perfect rock voice. But that being said no one rocks electric rock guitar any better than the "Nuge".This is an album any fan of the "Golden Age of Classic Rock" should own.

Stranglehold on the '70s
Strong start with the original album side one, not so much on side two. Great rock guitarist to be sure, tiresome arrogance. Derek St.Holmes was an important factor in this being a successful effort. UPON FURTHER REVIEW... Putting personality types aside and keeping the focus on the music, I had to add a star here. This is, after all, a seventies guitar classic. "Stranglehold", "Just What the Doctor Ordered", "Hey Baby", c'mon, had to add a star here.

What'd you Expect, It's TED NUGENT !!!!!!!
Where to begin, I've been a Ted Nugent fan since I bought my very first Long Play vinyl record. The Amboy Dukes (1967). This release is the start of his solo career I bought in 1975 on pre-order. Love the guitar (Gibson, Kalamazoo, Michigan) sound that Ted sends out to the masses. Was very happy to get this, even though I got it later than I wanted to and pricing was getting astronomical. Being raised in Detroit I like Motorcity Madhouse, listening takes me back to Cobo downtown getting my ears shredded, walking out into that cool Michigan air with them Buzzing. Ears and Body, pick up a copy of this release whether Vinyl, CD, SHM CD or Sacd just get it and be ready to Rock, just a classic example of the Dirty American and Detroit Hard Rock Sound.

1st album, indication of things to come.
1st album to explode into the 70's introducing a new style of American 'Heavy Commercial Rock'. 1st two albums were enough for me they became more of the same and I moved on to music that was a bit more sophisticated!

Loud & Proud!!
The beginning of Ted's solo album career & he started as he meant to go on, ‘Stranglehold' being a great heavy, bluesy statement of intent! While ‘Motor city madhouse' is gloriously insane (even more so the live version of it, included in the bonus tracks.) The guitar solos throughout are blistering first rate stuff with a good variety of songs.

If you like classic 70's hard rock then this is for you
I heard Stranglehold on the Disney film Invincible without realising who the artist was. When I found out it was Ted Nugent I decided to investigate a bit further. I'm glad I did. This album is a balls out classic.I love that American 70's rock sound and this is the epitome of that. Love the guitar tone on this album and Ted knows how to make that geetar sing. The songwriting is almost as strong, Stanglehold, Stotrmtroopin, Motor City Madhouse, Just What The Doctor Ordered:- all prime slices of American hard rock. Impeccably produced with great vocals...what isn't there to like?

Ted Nugent
I can't believe I never listened to this guy in the 70's when I was a teenager, having only come across Stranglehold recently while listening to Planet Rock radio. I ordered a copy right away and found the whole album superb with the sound quality matching the guitar playing on this remastered disc. Shame I only discovered him now, but at least that's something to look forward to, as I check out some more of his work.Thoroughly recommended listening.
