Nice Product, Poor shipping to me.
The reflector it's self is nice quality, easy to assembly and priced right! The Shipping to me sucked. The corners of the shipping box were smashed resulting in the reflectors being bent at the corner. I was able to fix the bends with hand tools but should not have been required.Also... I live in a FREE state where it is not as large an issue But... These reflectors were shipped in boxes printed with lots of nice pictures and advertisements for other products. What was inside the boxes is very clear to anyone concerned. My FedEx guy asked me about them and asked a few questions about growing.... Again this should never have been an issue. If I was a buyer in TX this could have put a target on my back. This is poor consideration for buyers and there privacy. My neighbor needed to buy 8 more reflectors but decided on another brand simply for this fact....

Sun System 400 watt complete!
Sun Systems durable two year warranty , built in ballast plugs into 110 outlet very little heat. This digital ballast is 500% better than a magnetic ballast, 400/250 watt switching complete system , just buy a nice hps digital enhanced 400 watt bulb your good! Never touch a bulb with your fingers use a nice glove or a sock. My old sun system 400 hps watt system still works magnetic though. Metal halide (MH) and high pressure sodium (HPS) lamps. 400 watt or 250 watt. Best bang for the buck!!! Sun System web site has the specs and more pics!!!No dimming crap! I believe if you dim a bulb you just ruined it. You want Dense buds 400,000 lumen's have to hit the floor.I can do 3 growing seasons in a year with one bulb before I get a new one.

easy to use
this was my third grow light purchase overall - this unit is lighter in weight than my two previous purchases...does not come with a glass slide window like the previous models (no need to clean glass i guess) - the on/off switch broke early on but since fixture is controlled by a timer this was not fatal...suspect that Mh lights experience a spectrum shift before their actual lifetime - may want to just use HPS (hotter, probably less efficient) - get the suggested hangers - electricity is not free:)

Great product, but one seller did not use discreet packaging
Product is great I bought 3 of them Amazon PrimeBut one of the sellers (shipped from three different facilities) didn't send it with discreet packaging, they just sent with original box (and the box had holes in it, the product was practically sticking out of the box!). The UPS guy and all of my neighbors don't need to know about my indoor tomato garden. So be careful when ordering this product if security is an issue for you.Otherwise the product is great and would definitely recommend if you need to cover a 4x4 area for your ladies. I use them in grow tents, no heat or smell issues so far. I think these are the standard for 4x4 footprint reflectors so if you have the cash for them, do it!

Superior quality
Best reflector i have owned yet. great quality and superior product to any i have had in the past. Glass is removable, solid construction overall. all hardware was included, light socket as well. I got the 6 inch version and fits a 100 watt HPS bulb very nicely. Lighter than some others i have hung in my garden but the light pattern is far superior. I will most likely replace my big Kauna with another one of these. Beware that this does not come discreetly packages it does have a label on the outside of the box showing what it is as well as a picture of the reflector on that label. This did not matter to me but i know discretion is a problem for some

This thing is built well. I had a cheap cool tube and felt like it was throwing my precious lumens all over the place. Did my research and this hood was the best there is for 4x4 area footprint. Once i hooked the hood up and put my 600 halide bulb in that was previously in the cool tube and turned it on I realized I had made the right choice. Do not skimp on your hood! This thing lit my plants up 5x brighter then the cool tube. I'm thoroughly happy with my purchase. Showed my friend who runs 2 magnum XXL in his 4x8 and he's immediately switching to two of these when he's done with his current crop. Don't even think about it just make the purchase... U won't regret it

I should have purchased this a long time ago for my pepper plants.....
I have not actually hung this hood yet, but I can tell I am going to like it an awful lot after I briefly tested it out.........I was worried whether my powerful Maxlite 200 watt CFL bulbs(12,000 lumens) would fit in this hood and they seem to do just fine in there....with plenty of clearance......Apparently this fixture also will fire an HPS bulb but I am not sure what size HPS bulb(200 watts I assume maybe) one would use and what size ballast I would have to acquire......After I have hung, and completely tested, this light for a while, I envision upgrading my rating to five stars......

Rock on.
I run a 600w MH light through this hood. Works AWESOME. Great light dispersion, easy as hell to assemble, and it's affordable. My only beef is that it isn't air cooled, which is great for the UVA and UVB's to get to the plant, but I don't suggest running this without either A/C, and B.A. fan, or both.I run it in an Apollo 60"X60"X80" tent with two 6" Hyperfans - one for intake, one for exhaust. It was a pain for me to dial in the right air pressures to cool off the tent most efficiently. Once I did, however, no problem at all. If I want another HID light, I'm going to be getting this hood again.

Deformed and low value, but the only of its kind
First, the item arrived barely packaged and insufficiently protected. The box was opened (only two small pieces of tape were supposed to hold this together). The product is made of very thin and flexible aluminium and it was bent in numerous places. Second, once assembled, the reflector is crooked and there's no way to make it straight. Third, the design of it removes about 8 inches of headroom because the cord sticks straight up from the top. I don't know how anyone thought this was a good idea, if the connector was at 90 degrees it would at least make some sense. The cord also forces the reflector to be angled because that cord won't just float in mid-air, it has to fall on one side or another. I had to tie the reflector with two strings to hold it straight. They also thought it would be a good idea to make the top of this reflector a dust collection tray. Fourth, the instructions were wrong and botched. No effort was made there. It was easy to guess, but still. I had to unscrew screws twice because the steps weren't in order. Fifth, the description is false. A real MH bulb doesn't fit in there. The socket is way too close to the top for that. It's ideal for an HPS bulb though. You can only use a conversion MH bulb.If it weren't for the fact that there is simply no other large open reflector with a pebbled surface that is closed on all sides and that holds a bulb horizontally, I would immediately return this. But, despite all the flaws, it's the best reflector I can possibly get for a 1000W in a 5x5. The light spread is exceptionnal and contrary to those dumb small block relfectors everybody sells, it doesn't cook plants directly under it by multiplying light that's already as intense as possible.

Good light, bad packaging.
Good light, well built, cool design.Packaging is terrible, I bought 3 and one was clearly dropped and has damage on one side, the dimmer switch is also damaged.I've repaired it mostly since, and it seems fine.
