LG Electronics SH2 2.1 Channel 100W Sound Bar (2016 Model)

It's not the most feature rich sound bar I've had the opportunity to use, but when our last one failed I was looking for something on the affordable spectrum to replace it.Given the small size of our living room and the short distance between our couch and the TV, the 100 watts of power are plenty more than enough for us. We rarely crank the volume anyways and at the levels we listen, it sounds pretty good.The best thing I can say is how much better a proper sound bar with a sub-woofer sounds compared to the terrible built-in speakers of the TV.I simply cannot listen to those anymore.For the price, it was a steal.Other little comforts I was looking for were that it integrate seamlessly with our existing LG HDTV. We connected it through the digital fiber-optic cable we already had and everything "just worked". The TV remote also handles the sound bar volume and the device auto-powers on and off with the TV.The digital audio cable that came in the box looked a little cheaper than the one we had but I suspect it should work fine.We already had one hooked up so we didn't have a need to replace it. At least now we have a spare.Again, it's not the absolute best sound bar you can buy but for the price and for our setup it was perfect for us.

As I was hooking it up, I got to the part of connecting the optical wire, from the back of the base bar, to the back of the tv. I looked and looked and lo and behold no connection. I was starting to get upset when I happened to look at the back of my cable box and there it was! So i hooked it up and I have to say, this sound bar and sub woofer sound REALLY GOOD!!!!! I was really impressed and really thankful that I had the connection for the optical wire on our cable box! I'm looking forward to the new Nascar season, when they say "Crank it up!" I now have the speakers I needed to make it sound Really good! Movies are going to sound awesome! I'm really happy with this and yea, I would recommend this to a friend and to anyone else. If your looking for a better sound for your tv and you don't have a thick wallet to blow on a system, this will make you happy! Update: I haven't figured out why the bass speaker isn't working! The only wires for it, are to hook it up to the base bar and that's it, but it's not working???

This is a great way to add some depth to your sound and to keep from blowing your TV speakers. Its not bad for the price but you get what you pay for. I really like that the sound it provides and how easy it was to set up. I also like that it has settings that it will automatically turn on and off with your TV. I did not like the fact though, that you have no way of knowing the volume setting with this sound bar. As you adjust the volume the only indicator that something is changing is a red light on the bar that will light up. I really wish that something popped up on the TV or if there as a small display on the bar that showcased the current volume setting. I have been using this for about 6 months now and I feel that it will most likely need to be replaced by the time its a year old. Already I can hear the speakers starting to go with a "vibrating like" sound during dialogue where the male has a deep voice, or to lower frequency background music. When the time comes to replace it I will not be purchasing the same product again.

The sound bar worked for about 4 hours before the sound of voices stopped. I was only getting the background (music, etc...), I changed the channel and the sound came back! I went back to what I was watching previously and it happened again, this time I was able to hear when it happened. The sound of voices stopped after a commercial, I changed the channel and the voices came back. Well...much to my disappointment this kept happening. The next thing that I noticed was the quality of the sound, I know this is a budget minded sound bar, I wanted to give it a chance. The movie I was watching had a scene that had a bunch of breaking glass, It sounded terrible, muffled, etc... That was another negative. I went for a short walk, and left the movie running. When I got back about 30 minutes later, the sound had totally stopped this time. I changed the channel once again and it worked, at least until the next commercial. I would not recommend this sound system. If you can spend a little more go with a better brand that is more known for its sound. I went purchased a Yamaha as a replacement, and so far so good. And it was about $40 more, and well worth it! Sorry for the bad review LG, I wanted this to work for me but it just didn't. I hope my new LG TV works well!

The sound is amazing, which I really like. The only reason I gave it a 4, is because it doesn't communicate a display with the tv, so there is no way to visually know how loud/quiet you are making it. This is helpful with my kids sometimes, because I can tell them they can turn the volume up to 12, or something along those lines, but with no visual display, this is not possible.UPDATED: I am a little frustrated with this unit at times, because the volume will randomly increase. I will be listening to music at a quiet volume, and then it increases. Upon further review, this is a setting that you can control with the remote.

if you are looking to just make your TV easier to hear then this will work. Settings are minimal but it is easy to setup. I have it linked to my LG TV via the LG sync process. It will not shake the walls but it will go pretty loud if needed. The subwoofer is small enough to not stick out which is good since it needs to be near the main speaker bar.The only issue I have is it is supposed to stay linked to my LG TV so that it will turn on when the TV turns on. The TV stays setup for it but the bar does not turn on. Kind of annoying but not enough of a bother for me to tinker to see if I can get it to work.

Good quality product,arrived promptly. Fixings caused a bit of confusion but worked out something in the end. Interference experienced with other bluetooth equipment, even when in optical mode. When any pc with enabled bluetooth is turned on the sound is turned off on the TV!!

Awesome sound quality and bass. Shame the remote doesn't work though. Looks great with my LG TV.

Cheap, and effective. Make sure you mount the bar on a whale though as the sound quality is much better that way

La barra de sonido es de buen tamaño, trae un subwoofer y control remoto. El control remoto es diminuto con un par de funciones. La fidelidad del sonido no es muy buena, se escucha un poco distorsionada. El subwoofer no cuenta con su propia alimentación de energía, se conecta con dos cables delgados que salen de la barra de sonido lo cual limita la potencia de sonido. La barra de sonido tiene Bluetooth y cuenta con la opción de cable óptico. La barra de sonido viene con un cable óptico de baja calidad pero lo trae. Cuando conecto mi celular a la barra de sonido tiene problemas de conectividad, tengo que entrar a mi celular y conectarme seguido pues se desconecta la barra de sonido haciendo que el reproducir música de mi celular sea imposible. Cuando intento reproducir música de mi Alexa en la la barra de sonido ocurre lo mismo. Se pierde la conectividad de Bluetooth y la barra de sonido deja de funcionar y se apaga. Recomiendo la barra de sonido si no tienes altas expectativas en relación de sonido y no la vas a usar con otros dispositivos Bluetooth.

El diseño, el tamaño y sus componentes son perfectos.No soy experto en sonido pero para mi es excelente calidad y manejo, estoy fascinado que es el segundo que compro.
