TYR Cold Water Swim Cap

Although not a competitive off shore, or even pool swimmer, I wear this on 2000-3000+ yard swims at least 3 times per week. Fit’s perfectly with no slippage like a lot of other caps. It’s a warm fit for cold days but I find it perfectly fine for warm days. Doesn’t feel like I’m overheated. Great product worth the reasonable cost. And it’s made of high quality material. No wear or tear.

Fairly comfortable. I do have a large head (not a big head as in coming out of MIT/PENN/HARVARD or whatever "distinguished" liberal school) and it DOES fit me reasonably well. Initially, it may seem tight, but as you wear it, it probably loosens up. Given today's American life that comes with so much B/S i have lost most of my hair and this cap does keep my head warm as i do indoor laps in an Olympic sized pool full of bleach. As far as durability - i mean, i just got it guys - slow down with reviewing! - too hard to say, but i do enjoy the product. For me it was worth spending the so called money.

Our municipal pool barely heats the water. This cap really makes a difference keeping me from being cold my entire swim. Maybe the thermal caps with the chin straps are necessary for swimming in open water, but for swimming laps in a pool, this stays put on my head, just like a regular swim cap.

Previously, I used a TYR Wrinkle Free Silicone Cap. It was a tight fit on a "regular" head. After an hour of swimming, it gave me a headache. This warmwear cap is a looser fit, and easier to get on. I was worried that it would shift around on flip turns, but it is staying in place. It takes longer to dry (hang dry) than a regular cap. Both types of caps keep my head warmer than without. I like this cap for its fit and comfort! I also like that it keeps my swimming headphones on my head.

Picked this up and just went out for my fist open water swim with it. A little chilly ocean temps but Wore jammers (no wetsuit) and wow, can’t believe what a huge difference having that lightly insulated cap made to my comfort level vs. last swim a couple weeks back. Not bulky at all. Super comfortable and very effective!

So It does help me feel warmer but an issue I am having is that after hand washing it and putting it out to dry it tends to smell after. If it didn't smell I would give it 4-5 stars

I wear it over my silicone cap when the pool is colder than usual or when the air is cooler and it helps keep me the slightest bit warmer. It’s tight but it’s ok. I wouldn't wear it on its own. I’d prefer a latex or silicone cap to wear under it

I am training for a 2 mile open water race and am training in some really cold water. I wanted to up my game and have a warmer swim cap than just my silicone cap. I read the reviews and it sounded like this would provide more warmth. I had no idea my head would be soaked with water. It doesn't keep water out like a silicone cap. I guess I could try wearing it under my silicon cap. But, this was nothing near what I was expecting to get. I was way colder wearing this in my open water swim than my silicone cap that keeps my head dry. The pros are it's soft, comfortable and it doesn't pull on your hair. Wondering if I can return it?

J'ai importé ce produit, ce n'était pas trop cher (25€) mais en faite il ne fait rien de mieux qu'un pauvre bout de silicon qu'on trouve à décat pour <10 € donc le choix est vite fait...

Lovely swim cap great fit for open water. One or two bright colours might be good for open water swim venue requirements to wear brightly coloured hat?

It's a great investment for those who want keep their head's warm for open water swimming. I suggest purchasing a silicone cap to wear over top of this insulated thermal cap,. I swim early mornings outdoor and this cap does the job. It's worth the money...
