Wireless Perfect Bake Pro Smart Kitchen Scale and Recipe App

I received my Perfect Bake Pro as a gift. Using this product was such an amazing and fun experience. I was concerned at first that I wouldn't be able to navigate the app as well as the younger generations could. I did need to read all the directions, links, and even watched the tutorials which were extremely beneficial. I used their suggestion to begin with one of their getting started recipes. I was so delighted to not be using numerous measuring cups and measuring spoons for the ingredients. I loved that you could scale the recipe to exactly the amount that you wanted and it automatically adjusted the ingredients, even to a portion of an egg. Since I don't always like using the full amount of sugar found in most recipes, I found through trial that Perfect Bake app allows you to bypass the full scaled amount if you choose to. Once you have selected your recipe and begin the process, the app shows and tells you what to do every step of the way using color coded sections as well as visuals and sounds that let you know when you have used enough of the ingredient. There are even caution warnings for ingredients such as salt so you don't add too much. Although this step might not be necessary for some bakers, the app even allows you to weigh your portions as you put them on your baking sheet ( I was using cookie balls) so that you end up with exactly the amount the recipe called for.The app allows you to edit recipes and even input your own. I haven't mastered this section, but with some practice I'm sure it will get easier.The scale itself is light weight and will store easily and the bowls are stackable, bright colored, and sturdy. The tablet/telephone stand, however, would not hold my iPad as it kept falling over. It appears it would work well with a phone or a mini tablet. I would recommend this product to anyone who loves to bakes as it is so accurate and it helps eliminate some of the mess that baking has.

This scale feels like it was built with high quality. Weights down to .1gram is great. Easily connected my phone, no problem.The problem with it is this, unless all you want are step by step baking instructions, then you are fine. It will do a weight of anything of course, but it has no nutritional information or mode to it. It is too bad. Perfect made the scale in the Nutribullet Balance. The app they have looks just like this baking app, but it allows you to manually build and give you nutritional info on what you are building. I assume Perfect developed the app. Why not develop a nutritional app for your great scale? You are missing a segment of the market that could use a scale of this quality. If they ever decide to make a nutritional app and scale, I will buy it, till then, I’ll use a lesser scale.

I knocked this down one star due to how frustrating it is in creating your own recipe. Other than that I just love this, it has made it so much more enjoyable to bake. Love not having to use all my measuring cups/spoons etc. just put the proper bowl on the scale and pour. So far everything I’ve made using this has come out great. I’ve even used there included recipes. Wish I had found this years ago. I love the fact you can download the app for blenders and use the same method for smoothies etc. haven’t used that part yet but expect it will be just as good. Foot note I returned the first one that was sent as it was obviously a return and not new. But as usual Amazon stepped up and made it right and expedited me a new one.

Well I almost bought the exact smart scale from Vitamix company. Until I read a reviewer that mentioned how this model is exactly the same as Vitamix smart scale but it is at least $20 cheaper. It is a no brainer decision.I used it couple times already. It is quite easy to follow. It was a bit weird to get used to it at first. However I also want to use this scale with my Vitamix. The bad thing is that this scale does not work with Perfect Blend app. I don't understand why as the website mentioned that the smart scale can be used with Perfect Bake and Blend app. So I have to painfully program the blend recipes to use with this scale. It can be done but it is a lot of work on my part. Other than that I love this scale.

Although I like this product, I've had difficulty adapting to using it. I find it especially cumbersome to enter recipes using the iPad. I wish that there was an application for the Macintosh (and for Windows, too, for those owners with Windows) where recipes could be entered more easily using the keyboard and then sent to the cloud.It would also be nice to have some kind of recipe importer. I use the Paprika recipe application on my Mac and iPads, and the ability to export a recipe in Paprika or other format (which are mostly XML) and have them translated at least partially to the app would be a real time saver.I have found that the scale/iPad connection responsiveness seems to be somewhat slow; that has caused me to exceed measurements several times, and with ingredients that could not easily be "removed" to correct the mistake.Update 3/6/17Using the scale over the weekend to weigh out individual meatballs to achieve identical weights, I discovered at the end of the process that the legend on the Off button had dissolved and disappeared. Hopefully not in my meatballs! I've removed another star for this.

Well worth getting these scales. Not only do they give you no fuss baking and I mean “No Fuss” but baking as well. The app takes you step by step through the whole recipe, from preparing bakeware to measuring, to resting or mixing times, from deciding what to make, right the way through the recipe to the temperature of your oven and baking time. The scales can be used for the Perfect Drink app also allowing you to make cocktail and drinks. The apps both allows you to add your own recipes for ease next time you come to bake or mix drinks. It has a feature for scaling up recipes easily for bigger batches and automatically adjusts all the ingredients, mixing times, cooking times, portioning etc. Who ever thought of these should get an award.

I system is fine and works ok. Very difficult to remove ingredients from a recipe and really hard to add personal recipes.
